Landmark 20x60 - 80mm spotting scope,November 22, 2009
By rjm1from Walpole, MA
"I bought this mainly for seeing 223 holes in paper at 100-200yds, while I have yet to get to the range for those distances I have used it at shorter ranges with superior results. I also took it on a recent bow hunt and was able to see into the fields upto a mile away right through dusk with no problems. One issue I have is with the case. It is cheaply made and is a little small for the 80mm so the sides are busting out. I am sure the smaller scopes would not have this problem. I duck-taped the whole case and it should work ok for a while. The tripod seems to be adequate. I gave this a 5 star rating for the scope. If I were to rate the case it would get a 2. Tripod a 4.
I would recommend this scope if you are looking for one in medium price range."

"Excellent spotting scope, very good value. Unfortunatly, it was a gift, but not the right model #. As usual Cabela's has that great return policy. Nooooooooo problem."

Nice Spotter,September 1, 2009
By eluers1from Laughlin, NV
"I'm fairly happy with this scope. It's the first one I've bought, so I can't compare it to any others. The optics are good, it seems well built, and it does the job. The window mount has come in handy."

20-60spotting scope,March 4, 2009
By bigbuckjack
"I really didn`t like this scope . On the side of this scope it says it has a long eye relief. You could of fooled me! I also found it to be very tipsy on the tripod. There also was a bright yellow ring of light around the outside of the lense when looking through it . I had it two days and I sent it back."

Landmark Spotting Scope 20x-60x,January 4, 2009
By crossbowshooterfrom VA
"I think the scope itself is decent and is clear and pretty sound optically, but all the accessories are junk. Even the scope caps. When I got the scope, the eyepiece cap threads stripped immediately. The window mount knob is threaded on so when you tighten it down to the window and then try to unscrew it, the knob comes unscrewed and the mount doesnt. The window mount also doesnt hold the scope steady. The tripod is pretty flimsy too."

Bob,December 29, 2008
By RBobBfrom Texas
"Scope is excellent. However, the trouble with steadying the scope is that the mounting point is too far aft and this leaves it nose heavy and not balanced. The tripod includes a bracket that shifts the weight and balances the scope but it is flemsy and allows vibration. Witout the bracket the tripod would just fall over forward. Clarity of scope is excellent. I need to find a better mount."

good value,October 13, 2008
By zzebezzfrom Clifton Park, NY
"I puchased this scope so that I could see my shots at 300yds. I have no complaints. I can clearly see bullet holes. I agree with other reviewers that at 60x the picture is not completely clear. I usually back off of 60x to about 50-55x and find that the picture clarity is pretty good, especially when ambient light is sufficient. I also agree that the tripod leaves something to be desired. It is extremely lightweight, so any vibration on the table will cause the picture to wobble. There is also no instructions included on how to mount the scope to the tripod. I could not find a picture on the website (they must have removed it) but a nasty email to Burriss and they sent me detailed instructions. All things considered, for the price I am happy with the scope. If you are expecting super clarity and a solid picture, you probably want to go with a higher end scope, but if your just looking to spot your shots out to about 300 yards, I think this scope does a pretty good job."

Landmark Scope,August 26, 2008
By flysavvyfrom Cerrillos, NM
"Good Scope. After all the rough ground traveled, this fits the bill. Gets the job done. Great case. Excelent for target shooting and general observation. I've had so many scopes stolen from me that I just refuse to spend the money on a high end scope. This one does the job."

Mixed Review,August 24, 2008
By robinsgfrom SE Oregon
"The optics of this scope are excellent for the price. However, the scope is so long that it is very difficul to steady. Even the slightest wind made it jiggle when looking at long range. I tried it on 3 different tripods and had the same problem all three times."

Landmark Spotting Scope,July 1, 2008
By Scotty51from South Dakota
"Very good scope. Stable on the bench, even in moderate wind. Light and portable. A good value. Only problem was the lack of written assembly instructions. I got the package with scope, tripod, window mount, and extension bracket. Nothing told me how to attach the bracket and it was not as easy as it sounds. I went to the company web site and found a picture that cleared things up."

Good Scope for the Money,June 23, 2008
By Curt1968from Ankeny Iowa
"I would agree with others that the quality of this scope is good for the money. It is large and therefore a bit cumbersome. Mine came with a small tripod and hard carrying case. The tripod is really not strong enough to hold up the weight of the scope. The carrying case is nice, but almost too small to handle the 80mm lens. If those things are not a concern, then this scope is truly worth the money. The images are clear and crisp. I used it to look at the craters on the moon."

Good Value,April 16, 2008
By keystonefrom Ohio
"I had a small problem when I received the scope. The tripod could not be screwed into the scope. Burris customer service said they would ship a new screw, but it never arrived. A three way call with Cabelas and Burris did the trick. This time, Burris shipped a new upper assembly for the tripod which fit fine.
At the range, I had no trouble finding holes in targets. The range only goes to 100 yards, so that is really as far as I have used this scope so far. Optically, I would say this scope is a good value. I don't think it will be mistaken for a fine European model, but that's now what I got it for and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg."

Burris Landmark Scope,February 27, 2008
By Maliboofrom California
"I bought the Burris Spotting scope because of all my rifle and pistol scopes, the Burris was the brightest. The 20-60x80 Landmark scope did not disappoint me. I took it to the coast for a week and was able to see whales offshore after spotting their spouts. It was also fun watching the lunar eclipse recently."
