"Can't attest to the operation of this unit because it came in damaged so I sent it back. Overall construction was pretty poor quality with a very brittle plastic housing. A unit of this type should be more durable if you plan to actually carry it and subject it to daily handling, drops, bumping etc. I'm going for the refund because I was disappointed in overall construction quality."

"I purchased this item for my wife, so she would have alittle extra protection when she worked late. At first it seemed to be working OK. Unfortunately, the only way to make sure it's operating is to test fire it for a half second. 2 weeks after receiving it, my wife was ready to leave for work, and I gave it my usual test fire to check the batteries, it gave an audible click inside the unit, no spark, and then that sickening smell you get when something electronic gives up the ghost. Tryed new batteries, dead. Currently a paperweight. After the 1st week I dumped the box, so a return is unavailable. I don't blame Cabelas in the least, I should have kept the packaging, I would have gladly tryed a replacement. Keep your packaging for at least 30 days!"

"This is an excellent product. I am a self defense instructor and I used this as a demonstration in the last seminar we had. I had four of my senior male black belts volunteer to act as the attackers. These men are in great physical condition and ranged from 24 to 29 years in age. It stopped them all dead in their tracks, putting three of them on th ground instantly."
