Sierra's strict adherence to quality standards,
including a requirement for three times more dimensional and
structural quality control, results in extremely high uniformity and consistency. Per 100.
MatchKing Bullets have hollow points and a boattail design that provides an extra margin of ballistic performance that match shooters need for long ranges under adverse conditions.
GameKing Bullets are designed for hunting at long ranges where their boat-tail design brings ballistic advantages for an extra
measure of performance. The streamlined tapered base greatly reduces drag for higher retained velocity, greater striking energy, flatter trajectory and less wind drift.
Pro-Hunter Bullets have a flat-base design and custom tapered
jacket that helps assure maximum expansion, optimum weight retention and deep penetration.
Varminter Bullets meet the extreme demands of exceptional accuracy with light construction for explosive expansion and minimum ricocheting as well as high velocities and flat trajectories.

Very accurate - but...,November 18, 2009
By blh557from Brazoria, TX
"I have been loading the Gameking Boat-tail Spitzers in all of my rifles from 100 grain .243Win to 150 grain 300RUM. As far as accuracy and consistency are concerned these bullets are great for the money. I shoot the 150 grain in both my .270 Win and the 300 RUM and though they are tack-drivers they do have a tendency to separate after entry; though in the case of my last .270 shot the round went totally through a 150lb hog and lodged into the opposite shoulder. The bullet expanded to about 3/4 of an inch, but was in two pieces. The round definitely did its job, and on thin-skinned game I will not hesitate to use it. I will, however, hesitate to use these with larger game such as elk and African species (I live and hunt primarily in Texas) due to my concern for bullet separation and choose, instead, to go with a more solid round such as the Swift Sirocco II, even though it is twice the cost. But for white-tail and muley, pigs and targets the Gameking Boat-tail Spitzer is absolutely my choice. Only four stars due to separation."

Sierra Bullets,July 26, 2009
By TClevfrom Midland, Texas
"Folks, I have used sierra bullets since 1976. Started out with a used .243 ADL, shooting 1/2 at 100 with 4895 (85 gr hpbt). Then moving to a customized 7mm Mauser my brother built for me, still using the military stepped barrel (160 gr spbt). It clover-leafs with 4831; ditto with a used Browning 22-250 (.55 gr hpbt) falling block with 4895.
My latest is a .308 Rem HBVR. In working up 'The' load this year, I used Berger 155 and 165, Sierra 168, 155 hpbtm bullets and 4064, 4831, 4895 and a couple of Reloader Brand powders.
Settled on a load 45 gr of 4064, 168 Sierra HPBTM going 2750 fps (chronographed). However, several combinations produced sub-moa results. Bought and installed my first Jewell Trigger. Some inletting with a dremel tool was required (not difficult). All the reports about those triggers are true! One can focus on sight picture while pressing on the trigger. No creep, virtually zero over-travel. It's almost like an 'autopilot' trigger. Focus on target, then, ... 'Boom....'
Have it shooting 1 hole at 100, 1/2" at 200, 1 1/2 at 300 and consistantly ringing gongs at 300 and 500 yds with a Zeiss scope using their Z600 reticle. Bergers were nice, but they actually have lower BC than comparable Sierras; also they can't be seated regularly or out, near the lands, without a need to 'customize' the length of the magazine walls of my 700. Looking forward to seeing the performance of these Sierra Match King bullets on mule deer this year.

Great bullets,July 25, 2009
By UPWTechfrom Phoenix, AZ
"These Sierra bullets were delivered quickly and shoot nicely. The bullets were consistiently round and measured 0.308" in diameter; go figure that one out... All of these bullets exited the gun at reasonable velocity. Accuracy was excellent and each bullet made a small hole in the target which made it easy to identify where it hit the paper. The fantastic people over at Sierra even sent a couple of reloading data labels in the box to aid my memory about powder and overall cartrige length. Finally, thanks to Cabelas for having the needed items in stock. It's difficult to target shoot without bullets."

Sierra 175 SMK's - they just perform !,June 19, 2009
By Rugerboyfrom MIdland TX
"Folks..These 175 SMK's are hands down the best for .308 long distance shooting. No brag - just fact- Last weekend I shot a sight-in 0.273 MOA 3 shot group (within the size of a quarter at 300 yards) w/ no wind(uncommon her in West Texas). The following approach has eliminated most variables except me. It is a lot of work, but worth it. This group was accomplished by the following equipment: 1) re-barreled factory action Ruger M77VT with a Bartlein (sp?) .308 barrel w/ 11.25 twist. The barrel is 1 1/4" O.D. stainless 30" long as it came from Bartlein and match chambered by my local smith. I don't think the steel has any flex when lighting off a round! 2) Lapua brass (neck turned when new to just fit the match chamber) 3) 44.0 grains Varget / Federal 210M primers 4) seating depth slightly off the lands 5) non-moly 175 SMK's right out of the box 6) Nightforce NXS 8 X 32 scope to compensate for 62 year old eyes w/ bubble level attached to the scope 7) Harris type "S" swivel bi-pod 8) rice - filled butt bags for elevation control 9) most important - RCBS goldmedal match seating die and neck sizer combination makes seating the 175 SMK's as straight as can be. I noticed great improvement w/ these dies"

SIERRA 30 CAL. 165 GR. BULLETS,March 2, 2009
By HootervilleNativefrom Hendersonville,NC
"These bullets will shoot the same point of impact @100,200, and 300 YDS.as the Lake City M852 .308 match from my Remington 700 VS. Expansion and penetration on medium sized game is excellent. Would highly recommend giving them a try in your 30 cal. firearm(s)."

Review 14 for Sierra .30 Caliber, .308'' Diameter Rifle Bullets
"Well, I've come full circle...I began loading Sierra Gameking bullets in the 1970's for my 270's and 7mmMag. Accuracy was consistantly better using Sierra bullets than with other brands. The Gamekings, in 130 gr. and 150 gr. respectively, held together properly when driven at speeds comparable to their design, and the few bullets recovered from deer, are picture perfect mushrooms. Buying into the "Newer is Better" philosophy, I've since tried all of the Premium bullets to be introduced over the years. As yet, I've found no magic combination that performed in my rifles, on the deer that I've killed, any better than the Sierra Gamekings that I started with. The only change that I've made is the selection of the Boat Tail Hollow Point, as opposed to the Boat Tail Soft Point, because the slightly shorter length and no exposed lead tip prevent the tips from being deformed in the magazine. Also, most of the rifles I use today are in Magnum calibers and the BTHP is constructed slightly heavier than the BTSP. My "Premium" bullet of choice is the Sierra Gameking...At half the price of the others."

Great Quality & Performance,December 15, 2008
By TheBigDeerHunterfrom northwest MS
"I reload all my own ammo and I am switching all the calibers to Sierra GameKing. they are very inexpensive, yet unsurpassed in accuracy and quality. I haven't killed any deer with it yet, so I don't know yet how it would perform on game, but I tell on target paper no other bullet can touch Sierra bullets. My philosophy is: Actually being able to hit your target is more important than minor differences in bullet performance. But I have a feeling I am not going to be disappointed with this bullet's performance on deer."

Sierra Matchking,November 30, 2008
By stapher1from WESTERN PA.
"The Seirra Matchking are excellent bullets for the competition shooter, Out of a custom 300 RSAUM 5 shot groups were .100", with no effort. Sierra's hunting bullets destroy too much meat, i switched to Barnes triple shocks about 4 years ago and never looked back."

"There are pretty good quality rifle bullets but i think i do favor the Berger match vld for there performance and accuracy over the sierra. But the sierra are still get the job down, weather punching paper or shooting game."
