Sierra .22 Caliber, .224'' Diameter Rifle Bullets

"just shot a few groups of 45gr spitzers not so great, although consistant 1" groups, perhaps too hot for my 14" twist .22-250 barrel. had much better .600 or better from 50gr blitzking, although the some of the green tips were loose in the bullet, didn't seem to hurt 'em any. also had similar results as the 50gr. blitzking with 55gr. spitzers. all in front of 34-35gr. varget and both rem and cci br2 primers.

also shot today, 55gr. hornady v-max, 34gr varget cci br2, easily inside a dime at 100, similar with 55gr nosler ballistic silvertips and berger 52 and 55 match and match varmint. all excellent bullets, may have to work a little bit with the 45gr spitzer."

"After shooting several boxes of factory 'high volume' ammo thru my brand new RRA Natl. match, hvy 20" 1-8 twist bl. rifle I was disappointed in resulting accuracy to say the least. Then I hand loaded up a box of Sierra 69 gr Matchkings with once fired brass....WOW! There are bullets and then there are bullets! Accuracy went from 'keeping 'em in the black' to 'shooting and hitting your own bullets holes in 100 yd. target'!"

.224 55 grain flatbase spitzers #1360, May 24, 2009

"I have used this bullet for 28 years in 3 different .22-250 rifles. I find it to be a very accurate bullet that has always shot well for me. I used to do a lot of coyote hide hunting. I found that these bullets almost always tend to go through a sideways coyote and leave a 50 cent sized exit hole. The coyote is usually put down immediately. I have tried other bullets that are supposed to open up quicker and not exit the coyote, but most of them didn't shoot as accurate for me and some had poor down range ballistics at longer ranges. I always kept coming back to the 1360 and just put up with the exit holes. Now that hides aren't worth much, I don't really care about exit holes anyway. I use this bullet exclusivly and have quit messing around with others. These are varmint bullets that generally go through game up to coyotes. Wheras I have never used them on deer,(.22's illegal to use in Washington) they are stout enough that in a pinch I think they would work on a broadside lung shot where legal. Overall, a very good / qualty bullet."

"Excellent bullet for target and varmints. One of the most accurate bullets I've ever loaded. Super downrange ballistics and terminal performance. Expansion is so violent they usually don't go through woodchucks."

"Like the other sierra bullets I buy the quality is consistent and they don't cost and arm and a leg. The shoot well even if the length is not set up perfectly. There are better bullets, but they cost more and are harder to get dialed in."

Extremely accurate Sierra bullets, January 27, 2009

"I use a bolt action chambered for the .223 with a 1 in 9 twist for target shooting. Most of my shooting is done at 100 yards since I've been experimenting with test loads to achieve the tightest shot groups possible. Initially I started with 69gr BTHP of various brands which work extremely well. My groups have been even tighter with the Sierra 55gr BTHP Gameking bullets. The smallest 3-round group I shot with these bullets measured 0.374 inches at 100 yards and I am consistently able to produce groups between 0.40 and 0.46 inches.

There are lots of quality bullets available that shoot well but I've chosen to stay with Sierra 55gr BTHP because there is a good balance between cost effectiveness and quality. And it's perfectly adequate for punching holes in paper at short and intermediate distances."

"I BOUGHT SOME OF THESE GAMEKING BULLETS IN THE 55 GRAIN FOR MY 223. FOR DEER AND THEY SEEM TO BE VERY DEADLY I GOT THE HOLLOW POINTS THEY ARE NOT THE ONES I WANTED BUT THATS ALL THAT CABELAS HAD IN STOCK SO THATS WHAT I GOT AND IM GLAD I DID BEACAUSE THEY ARE AWSOME FOR DEER HUNTING THANKS SIERRA!!!!!!"

"These bullet are awesome out of my 1-7, 18" MOD0 & MOD1 SPR Clones (AR-15s) over Varget. I can plink at soda cans at 200 yards as easily as plinking with a .22 L/R at 25 yards."

"Being a long time re-loader I prefer the Sierra 52 gr Match hpbt for accuracy, speed ( 3700 Pfc ). Bullet stays together great and has tremendous knock down power for small game and great for varmint hunting.

Have taken several deer with this load and works great at 250 yards and under."
