"I'm a photographer and shoot primarily landscape and nature. I'm constantly in the field and need a rugged yet comfortable shirt. A fellow photographer recommended the Serengeti shirt and actually let me borrow a shirt he had to wear on a shoot. To say I was pleased is an understatment. I bought 4 shirts as soon as I got back. "Fit is good - plenty of room to move. This shirt is versatile. Tucked in with the sleeves down and pockets zipped /buttoned it almost looks dressy. Un-tucked, open in front, sleeves rolled up, it is casual. Both are very comfortable. Lots of pockets are very convenient. A really great shirt."

"The shirts themselves are great. However coming from China the packaging is the absolute pits. Wrinkled without any reinforcements of the collar, without any carton to keep the shirt neat, thrown into an oversized plastic bag, you might think they are sending you a rag. From now on I will not buy any more of these shirts without having asked the operators beforehand where the shirts are coming from."

"I've worn alot of shirts all over the globe in the hottest climates, both dry and humid: Congo, Angola, Western Australia, and the Florida everglades to mention a few. I've kept a Cabelas Safari shirt in my duffel and have worn it in all four climates. Nothing beats the heavy cotton of this shirt. Lighter shirts stick to you when you sweat, or worse, they let the sweat pass right through and drip off doing little to cool you. This heavy cotton breathes well and hangs free from your skin letting air circulate. It also wicks your sweat into the fabric and holds it there so it can keep you cool through evaporation. The squarish, but not quite squared off, hem looks good tucked in or untucked, which adds to the air circulation. You won't find a more comfortable shirt when it gets really hot. Long sleeve versus short is a mater of preference. I have both, but the long sleeves are nice to roll down when sunburn becomes the chief concern. The zippered pockets are a plus to stop important things from falling out or going missing and are big enough for a small eyeglasses case, passport, or other documents. The only negative is that the front bellows pockets are a bit untidy when it is not ironed. As for me, I never iron it, ever.
Buy this shirt and enjoy.
To the Cabelas product development team: I'd like this shirt better if the bellows pockets were eliminated or had either sown down corners or sown in creases at the edges of the pocket to get it to lay flatter when you are far from the luxury of an iron. I've never actually used the chest bellows pockets; they could be changed to regular flat pockets to tidy up the shirt some."

"This shirt is extremely well crafted and designed to stand up to rough usage. It is the absolute best safari shirt I have ever owned.
The material is sturdy, yet comfortable and the pocket layout and design is well thought out. The clever long sleeve design is functional with buttons on the inside of the sleeve and a button hole on the outside to accommodate rolling them up and keeping them there. I thought the button inside the sleeve would be distracting, but you don't even know it's there.
I love the colors (I have british tan) and will be ordering the short sleeve version and different colors for my collection.
I highly recommend this shirt. You will not be disappointed."
