Cabela's Long-Sleeve Serengeti Safari™ Shirt – Regular

Our Safari Shirt has contrasting colors on the inside of the cuffs, placket and collar for a rugged, sporty look. And it boasts all the comfort you'd expect from a shirt that's designed to travel. Our long-sleeve shirts are made of unbelievably long-wearing,garment-washed, 6-oz.-per-square-yard 100% cotton calico. Epaulets keep your camera or binocular strap on your shoulder. These shirts also sport two flap-closed bellows chest pockets with two zip-closed behind, along with a handy pocket on the sleeve. And they have a seven-button placket front and straight-cut bottom. Machine wash warm, tumble dry. Imported. Sizes: S-5XL (for men 5'8" to 6'.) Colors: Tan, Grasslands, Cool Blue, Forest, British Tan, Straw.

"As an athletic woman with broad shoulders and looong arms, ladies shirts don't fit me well. I LOVE the guys Serengeti safari shirts. I'm a wildlife photographer, so the pockets are used all the time. Shirts are comfortable and long-lasting.

The only reason I don't give them a 5-star rating is that the roll up tab is too low on the sleeve. The rolled sleeve with the tab fastened ends up at or below my elbow. I usually have to double fold it at the elbow to tab it and keep it out of the elbow bend.

I will be wearing my Serengeti shirts in the Serengeti in a few days."

"This is a great shirt! I like to wear shirts out instead of tucked in but prefer the appearance of the square bottom. This shirt is perfect. I can wear it to job site visits and not look too casual or too dressy. Perfect! My only complaint would be limited color choices for my taste."

"I have bought these shirts sinse they first came out in your catalog. I have 2 and 3 of esch color both short sleeve and long. I actually love these shirts and would never want to be without access to them. I wear these all through the year. In winter they keep me warm and in summer cool because ofthe cotton material and the thickness of it, they never seem to wear out. Both woring around the yard and out in the field hunting. The colors are perfect as they can not scare off game or spook them as some shirts can. They are thick and durable to last for years with any kind of use you give them. Are very easy to clean and care for, and never need to be ironed. I could talk about all the great things I LOVE about these shirts. But could never find anything negative to say about them and be truthful. I eagerly wait for more colors to come out, so I can and WILL add to my collection of them. They go great with Cabelas 2 in 1 zip off pants too. These should be sold as a set !"

"This shirt has an interesting, utilitarian set of pockets and epaulets and looks rather "smart" even though the material is rather dreary and the constuction slightly rough-hewn.

When I first tried out one of the two shirts that I bought, at a very reasonable discounted price, I was a little put off by the sizing since it appeared much larger than the normal XL sized shirts that I own.

I tried washing it in hot water and that worked! It did shrink somewhat and it tumble-dried in the machine without coming out too wrinkled....

For rough work or outdoors I think it's overall a good shirt with excellent style and average construction. If you're thick in the middle you'll probably appreciate this shirt but if you're slim it may be too blousey!"

"I liked this shirt so much that I ordered more. The look and feel is great. They are very durable. I'm medium build, ordered a large based on previous recommendations, and the fit is very good.

Shipping was fast. Cabela's also included an attractive green plastic coat hanger with each shirt. I'll order from Cabela's in the future."

"Over several years I have purchased 5 of these shirts. Overall they have been great - plenty of pockets and they fit well - great for outdoor activities and fishing.
I have noticed a decrease in the quality from the first shirt that was ordered - some buttons coming loose and seams that are not quite sewn as they should be."

"So I had this safari style fedora and needed a shirt to go with it....just kidding of course. But I often wear a mans hat and the shirts look good with a nice straw, pinch front, cowboy or outback. Matter of fact I took two of them to Alaska on a recent trip and was asked a number of times where I go them. I wasn't doing a mush to Nome or anything that adventurous, just a vacation.
It was often rather cool as we walked around so I used light turtlenecks as a base and the shirts over that buttoned or not depending on the temperature. It frequently rained, so our Cabelas hooded rain jacket over the shirt added another layer of warmth and did a fine job of keeping the rain and wind out.
With a the great sale price I just couldn't resist and bought two more of these shirts. Now I have five different colors.
Two things I'd like to see. A maroon color and another pocket for a pen and pencil. If not another pocket maybe a modification on the sleeve pocket, or a fabric tab or sleeve for a pen or two sewn to the back of the zipper pocket. Currently I use a note pad carrier that I got at an office supply store. It has an elastic sleeve for a pen on the side and the whole thing fits, albeit tightly, in the zipper pocket.

"This Serengeti Safari shirt exhibits wonderful qualities of comfort immediately recognized by its 100% cotton construction. On a recent trip to Cairo, Egypt, with high humidity and very hot temperatures (with very little breeze and plenty of urban atmosphere), this shirt always felt just right in texture and breathable fabric. The fit and finish seem to be the equal of other higher priced safari designs, but this is a noteworthy bargain a cut above the rest in overall value and reliable comfort factor. The abundant pockets come in handy for storage of a small digital camera, a passport, hand sanitizer, paper documents, snacks and a host of other small conveniences. I love the tan and British tan colors, and the shirt washes up easily by hand in a small basin, drying quickly in the North African heat. Wearing this shirt while touring the Pyramids at Giza, I fondly recalled the glory of the film classic "Lawrence of Arabia." I wouldn't be surprised to discover the fabled T.E. Lawrence sporting one of these shirts in a long trek through the harsh Egyptian deserts!"
