Cabela's Short-Sleeve Serengeti Safari™ Shirt – Regular

Our Safari Shirt has contrasting colors on the inside of the placket and collar for a rugged, sporty look. And it boasts all the comfort you'd expect from a shirt that's designed to travel. These short-sleeve shirts are made of unbelievably long-wearing, garment-washed, 6-oz.-per-square-yard 100% cotton calico. Epaulets keep your camera or binocular strap on your shoulder. These shirts also sport two flap-closed bellows chest pockets with two zip-closed behind, along with a handy pocket on the sleeve. And they have a seven-button placket front and straight-cut bottom. Machine wash warm, tumble dry. Imported. Sizes: S-5XL (for men 5'8" to 6'.) Colors: Tan, Grasslands, Cool Blue, Forest, British Tan, Straw.

"I bought this and the long sleeve version for a recent safari in South Africa. Although they are not as esoteric as some of the high-performance fabrics sold by some of the other specialty outfitters, this was a no-brainer. I will not be going on many safaris! Although I am sure that you can find lighter weight material, these were very breathable in the hot sun and withstood frequent brushes with thorn bushes when the ranger drove too close to the brush. Combined with great fit and many pockets, these were a great buy."

"I wouldn't wear this shirt to a formal dinner, but everywhere else it's perfect. From the Boundary Waters in Canada to the Sonora Desert in AZ, it's always the first shirt I reach for. The long sleeve is just as good for colder weather, black fly situations, or keeping the Sun off your arms."

"I purchased one of these shirts recently and it has become one of my favorite pieces of clothing. I like casual easy to wear shirts and love the way this shirt feels. I recently wore it while at work and soiled it with blood. The stain came out with cold water and it dried as if nothing had happened. I plan to add to my collection soon."

"I liked this shirt so much that I ordered more. The look and feel is great. They are very durable. I'm medium build, ordered a large based on previous recommendations, and the fit is very good.

Shipping was fast. Cabela's also included an attractive green plastic coat hanger with each shirt. I'll order from Cabela's in the future.

The "Cool Blue" shirt is more of a slate grey than blue. I have both the catalog and viewed the website photo. On the website the image is much lighter and bluer than the actual garment. Still it's a great shirt. The color match for the Grass Lands and British Tan shirts were very close on both the website and the catalog."

"Have purchased a few other Safari shirts in the past, both long and short sleeve. Good weave and materials, however, buttons always seem to be a problem. Should re-do all sewing before going on extended trips."

"The shirts have a nice design but the fabric wrinkles after washing so bad that they need to be ironed. They are not as good as shirts I have purchased previously. I would not buy them again. They are not made in the USA either."

"Gentlemen,

I have purchased many of your Serengeti Safari shirts over the years and I wear them 90% of the time --- BUT! I find that the material is on the weak side in that they wear out on the collar and develop holes in the material for what seems like no reason. ---- The polyester in the other Safari series [ without the straight hem ] is a much better material, but I don't care for them as much ] I would very much like to see a stronger material [ and smoother ] in the "Serengeti Safari Shirt " [ I realize that it may cost more! ] --- I hope these comments are of help for I will continue to purchase the shirt as is - Thank you - RWH"

"I bought this shirt to use for work as well as my favorite activity, fishing, both salt and freshwater. I work in communications both inside and out in the fresh air. I have alot of stuff to carry of varing sizes, small and large. This shirt does an out standing job of looking great and meeting the mission. When fishing it it excells above the rest and the cost is reasonable."
