"When the water is dead calm regardless if I am catching bass or not I just have to throw this lure. It's so much fun to watch a strike and land a Bass or a Northern Pike. I have never put it back in the tackle box with out catching at least one fish. I must say its my most reliable hard bait. I have many hard lures that have never helped me boat a fish ever. I am a plastics guy, but I do like my Jitterbug. I use the white bottom frog colors on top."

"This thing is Awsome! I love fishing it, it is so good! I have one that is old and it caught fish when nothing else did. The new ones are just as good. The red and white color works good, and the black works well at night. But see what works for you."

"I recently had loads of fun catching (and releasing) largemouth on a small yellow jitterbug at mid-day in late June. It was mostly overcast and calm, with storms on the way. The bass were barely interested in a bass popper thrown with a fly rod, but a gentle retrieve of the jitterbug drove them wild."

"I mostly use this lure in michigan. It is the best topwater plug i have ever used! It makes this popping nose that bass and other fish can't resist! This lure is best used when ur fishing at night. The reason that being is because when u fish at night the lake is so quite that the fish can hear the plug from a long ways away. So if you are looking for a good nightime lure the jitterbug is the best of all others!!!"

"These lures from the tiny1/8oz to the Big "Musky" size 41/4" bruisers would have to be the best alround surface lure ever made, no wonder Arbogast has been around for so many years. these lures may have their equal now when your fishing during daylight hours but once the sun has gone off the water & right through the night there is not another lure that promotes the strikes from Bass, Cod, Golden Perch & Silver perch that these lures do."

"I have used the Jitterbug to catch bass for (45) years. I still have the original black, bolsa wood, Jitterbug that I bought (45) years ago. It is all covered with scatches from largemouth and smallmouth bass strikes but it still produces strikes. No bass fisherman should be without at least one black and a couple other color Jitterbugs for bass fishing."

"The jitterbug is the best topwater lure for largemouth bass ever invented, especially for fishing at dusk or in the dark. It is easy to fish, and fun to watch retruning to you in front of a wake of bubbles. It elicits great topwater strikes, and is able to hook a great percentage of hits. If a bass misses a strike, let it sit perfectly still for 1-2 minutes, and get ready. Try adding pauses to your retrieves, and vary the speed until you find what works best. I have also caught smallmouth, bluegill, and a 40 inch Pike on this lure. I like black at night, and frog colored (green/ yellow) at dusk."

"a friend of mine let me borrow the largest jitterbug in black. I had pretty good luck with it. I figured I would try the smallest one they make and see how that worked, also changed the color to bass. Unreal! I catch everything on it. Any time of day I get hits. My favorite lure by far."

"This is the lure that I caught my first largemouth with and I've been hooked ever since. Couldn't imagine a topwater fishing outing without my "bugs". This is my go to whenever fishing is slow, and it comes through time and again. Match the colors to water clarity and the lure will do the work. Only drawback is sometimes the spoon can interfere with setting the hook. Regardless, I caught a 7 pounder on a jitterbug last fall."
