"It's not a fly or spin-fishing vest. It's not camouflaged nor tarted up with unnecessary attachments, markings, shell loops, clips or or Velcro fastenings. It closely resembles the 'Other Brand' of light weight vest which I have bought for years. It has hand warmer pockets which are essential in bad weather and which are deep to carry keys and other items handy for quick use. This vest will not disappoint me. It's number seven in a line of well worn vests."

"The vest is just what I expected and wanted. I am very pleased with vest. The only suggestion would be a two way zipper or raise the snap tab so the vest would could be held closed while sitting rather than being left open. With this change it would be a strong 5 star item."

Very Well Made Vest that is comfortable to wear,

"I really like this vest and the quality its made. I just used it for travel and photography on a recent trip to the Maldives. It has pockets everywhere laid out in a logical manner. The only improvement i would make is to have one pocket to accommodate very large lenses even if it is the rear one. Other than that it is an excellent value."

Not for concealed carry,

"As I've read some reviews saying this was a good choice for concealed carry I thought I'd should mention that no, it really is not. Buy something intended specifically for concealed carry needs. I am specifically advising against this vest ONLY as a CCW garment because it has side slits which which are inappropriate when you need to conceal your handgun with the garment. This is not an overall criticism of the vest, only for its use in concealed carry."

How to Fix the Side Cinch Straps,

"This is a great vest. The side cinch straps aren't so good. I stummbled across the fix by accident. The two "D" rings slip too much to stay tight. Once cinched down the rings tend to slip out of postion and quickly loosen up. The solution: sow a seam right behind the "D" rings all the way across the cloth strap. Be sure the stitched seam is as close to the "D" rings as possible so as to prevent the rings from moving around too much. This actually works too well. When cinched down you almost have to take the vest off to uncinch them. This is such an easy fix the manufacturer should incorperate this into there next batch. Then it really would be the perfect vest."

Fine light hiking vest.,

"I have always been a fan of the safari jackets and wanted one of these vests. So, I finally bought one, I do not even need my light pack now for short trips. I travel light and was very impressed with the pockets and the way that the vest rides - very comfortable and layers nicely with other clothes."

because I have not been able to find a vest that does'nt a game in the back or with just a front loading type game .
when you are geting in and out of a huting buggy guiding parties all day you do not need a rear game bag just for quail"

"I have three of the Safari Vests. I got the first one in XL, the Second in 2X and the latest in 3X as I gained weight over the years. I use the vest all the time in the summer and like it better than a 5.11 vest that I have. Carrying extra gear, concealing a gun and just to wear by itself on hot days in the summer."

"Great vest and has almost all you would want in one. I suggest an open rear pocket accessible from the side (like the game bag on the back of a upland hunting vest) would be a great addition. Then you'd have the perfect vest."

"This vest is better than I expected. Very well made and tons of pockets. It is bit heavier than I expected, which makes it a little unconfortable in really hot weather, but still one of my better purchases. I hate to have my pockets stuffed full of things so this is a way to carry my camera, wallet, car keys and all manner of things securely without being weighed down."

"This is the best vest of its type I can find! I tried to purchase one from a online competitor, but as ususal they were out of stock and back ordered. Nothing of it's type is available in my area for local purchase! The fit is very comfortable and I think it has quite a attractive look to it. I will be changing my online first stop to Cabelas from now on!"
