"I live in Southeast Texas and this jacket is great. It is lightweight (more like a heavy shirt) and fits well. It is perfect for cool mornings and evening when an insulated jacket is just too much. Also, it is long enough, and light enough that it makes it handy for concealed carry. And it looks good, too."

"This jacket is quite nice but could use some inside pockets. It would be nice if it had a belt like some other Safari jackets do but the inner draw string is a nice feature. The fabric seems a little lightweight for a jacket, seems more like a shirt but it is still nice none the less. The map of Africa on the inside of the back is a nice touch as well. Overall I am quite satisfied with it."

"Just received my safari jacket (Bristish Tan) and I am very pleased with the fit and quality...did a lot of research and Calelas offered the best deal......and as previous reviewers reported those of us in need of a good "concealment" garment have found it in this article of clothing....very comfortable...lot the pockets...but it does need an interior pocket....I plan on getting another one in another color....I am 6 ' and about 180 pounds....jacket allows the owner to wear a sweatchirt without creating restricitons....."

"The only thing that bugged me for a minute or two after I unwrapped it was that the actual product is a little darker in color than the photo displayed here (I got mine in British Tan). Beyond that minor quibble, however, I absolutely love it. It's warm enough that you can wear it on those chilly fall mornings, but light enough that it probably won't bother you too much to keep on later in the day."

"This is a great looking jacket and seems to be well-stitched. This jacket fits well also. I ordered according to the size chart and the size is perfect and true, however, being all cotton, I am afraid to wash it. I think I will have it dry-cleaned only. An inside pocket would have been a great addition to this coat. The left arm has a wierd ring thing sewn onto it that I have yet to figure out what it is for."

"This is my fourth of these Safari Jackets, so you know I like them. Only drawbacks are that the buttons are notoriously sewn on without proper knots so they unravel pretty quick. My wife sews them back on properly (thank you, honey). Also, the side cargo-pockets eventually rip loose from the main body of the jacket leaving a postage stamp-sized hole; guess their attachment points could be better reinforced. This is the main reason why these jackets do not last me more than three years and I buy replacements. Over all, a great fit and a very masculine design. Now, if only Cabelas would come out with one in BLACK!"

"I rated my new Cabela Safari Jacket four stars because the material is darker in color than I expected. The British Tan was the lightest choice, but not a summery light color. The weight of the cotton material was lighter than I expected also. It did not have buttons with a flap inside the long sleeve so that one could roll up the sleeves and fasten them, if desired. These are minor personal concerns that may not be important to the average buyer. The styling of the jacket,however, gives it a macho quality that boosts the male ego. The pocket flaps and the darker color material at the inside of the cuffs and the collar give a nice contrast to the overall look of the jacket, and supports the manliness. The jacket is well suited to wearing in the rough bush country as well as providing a handsome, daring do, sporty look for having lunch in ones favorite restaurant, when a semi-dress up look is preferred. Go for it, you'll like it."

"The jacket is very nice and well made. It is a bit lightweight to be considered a jacket. I would call it a shirt jacket, as it is shirt weight, at about 6 oz. material. I plan to wear it over a short sleeve t shirt. That would provide about the right amount of warmth for early fall or early spring, when a long sleeve shirt would do. I bought it more for looks, rather than as a warm jacket."
