good cover, but watch console height,
July 25, 2009

"This is the second ratchet-tite cover I've owned. First one lasted 6 years, not bad for south Texas sun. Only issue with the new cover is the dimensions have changed. Old cover was ordered in 18' 6" length and fit my Nitro bay 1800 adequately. This time the 18' 6" would not cover the beam due to the center console height of this bay boat. (app 35") Had to return and get the 19' 6" cover with wider beam. Now there is substantial slop at bow and stern, but enough material to go over gunwales at the console. As I do not travel with the cover on, this is not an issue for me. Plus this cover came with a cover prop/brace which helps take the slack out. Good cover, just have to pay attention to center console height. I think the cover is supposed to be good to 30", and that is about right."

boat cover,

"I ordered the first cover which was too short because I did not measure or take into consideration the center console and so the cover was too short in length, and did not fit the boat properly, went to the longer length and the fit was perfect. Love the cover and the ease with which to put it on. I hope to see several years use and would recommend it to anyone thinking of having their boat shrink wrapped."

Cabela's Ratchet-Tite Boat Cover - Center Console,
November 4, 2008
By JIMVIRGINIABEACH

"The cover is well constructed with an appealing color. Covering and removal are quite simple if minimal strap tie-downs are used. I'm switching to a bungee solution for routine storage and use the straps only for long distance trailering. The cover has lots of extra material overall but the generic fit (width) over the center console area comes up a bit short. It's a trade off between the available width and length combinations. The true test will be its actual longevity and seven year warranty. Time will tell."

Boat Cover,

"These covers work really well if you are storing your boat on a trailer..this is the second one I bought for my center console. The first one lasted almost 10 years. They go on easy, the fit is good and because of the venting, I don't seem to get the mold my old cover used to when I put the boat away wet."

"So far it looks ok. The fit is a little off in the bow and I hope it will last as advertized. It seems a little weak. Also concerned about the snaps...when they break then what ?"

Cabela's Ratchet-Tite Boat Cover,
September 10, 2007
By ratchetresponder

"So far, so good. I fish in salt water only and store my boat in a lot. I am not concerned about the cover being water proof but like to keep the sun off the boat and the trash out off the boat. I do not travel very far to go fishing so I am not concerned about using the cover while traveling only 3 miles. The sun ate up my previous cover and caused it to rip and tear. This cover seems to be made of much better material. I go fishing once a week so the cover is on the boat 6 days. It is easy to put on and take off once you have the straps set where you want them. I have a center console and the water will pool in the bow area if you don't have support in that area. I use my push pole from the top of the console to the bow."

"The boat cover works good and is easy to put on. The only thing is that if there is any excess cover it forms a pool/pond of rain water that you have to empty. This product may be better with a support attachment. Order the size of your boat and not the extra size that they say."

Overall quality and fit very good,

"Overall this product is very good. If you order this cover for your boat, be sure to get the exact size fit regardless, even if you have a bow mounted trolling motor. The cover has ample extra material for all the extras mounted on your boat including seats being left in the upright position. It has an excellent tie down system with ample straps for a secure fit. As for the seven year warranty, we will see how it holds up in the desert extremes of southern Nevada. I'll let you know in about six and a half years from now. The only downside is that it is very time consuming taking the cover off and puttting back on after a day at the lake."

Good Cover,
November 21, 2006
By JD1802
from Brookville, PA
|
"The cover works excellent as far as water resistant and does a good job as long as there are no puddles. It is not waterproof. I was a little disapointed in the fit. My boat seems to be in between sizes and I thought about returning it for a smaller one, but never got around to it. It gets the job done, but is definitely too big for the boat. I added a foot as instructed for the bow mt trolling motor and should not have. Oh well."
