"the cover is excellent the problem is who ever designed the tie downs doesn't do a lot of boating not all trailers are like the one on the add this is my second cover the first one lasted 9 yrs the tie downs wrapped around the bars on the boat and connected back into them selves thus keeping all lines and tie downs on the cover . hope cabelas rethinks the tie downs because it really draws away from the covers apperance and flexiability"

"This is a great boat cover, I had a cover that was custom made and paid over twice as much for it and it lasted a grand total of three years before it virtually disintegrated. After comparing the Ratchet Tite cover to the old one, I could immediately see the quality of this cover. The only thing I don't like about the system are the plastic snap clips that hold the cover in place, I broke one when I cinched it down the first time. All & all I am satisfied and it has a seven year warranty to boot."

"I ordered the ratchet boat cover for my 19'4" Tracker with a 92" beam. I have a trolling motor mounted on the front left on my boat. The instructions say to "order your cover an ADDITIONAL foot if you have a trolling motor". My gut feeling based on 10 years of experience trashing $400 tarps was that this advise was not correct. I ordered the tarp for an 18'6" boat with a 94" beam. Again, my boat is nearly a foot longer at 19'4" AND I have the trolling motor. I received the tarp, placed it on, attached the straps but left slack in them. NOW, sinch the rope with the ratchet good and tight, THEN pull the straps tight. This thing fit like a glove! Perfect fit. If your tarp "fits" while loose, it will not fit driving 75 miles per hour (not that you would because that might be speeding). It must be TIGHT, TIGHTER, TIGHTEST but be extremely careful to make sure your reinforced on edges, points, windshields, IE any stress points because the weakest link on the tarp will speed directly to destruction. Remember, this material is designed to stretch a little bit. The hotter and wetter it gets, the more it expands. I know some of you out there disagree with me. You're entitled to that. I'm basing my experience on owning (and destroying) FIVE tarps in 10 years. These tarps in my past have been "custom fit" and made by Tracker, the manufacture. This Cabela's tarp is not quite as heavy, but is easily my best tarp to ever cover my boat. Throw in the award winning Cabela's warranty and you can't go wrong. Trust me, go tight and go with this tarp."

"I can see that it is your #1 selling cover. Lots of ties to the trailer. Also cinches up nice and tight around the boat. It does great pulling down the interstate. I've already put about 600 miles on it. Need to do some work on the motor cover, though. It is already coming apart at the seams."

"I purchased an 18' cover for my 18'6" Searay 180 with a 115 HP Mercury outboard, this cover fit perfectly, nice and tight, almost no wrinkles, the motor cover also fit very well after really cinching it down good and hard. "As far as the quality of the product I can find no fault however I am disapointed that it woul dfit so poorly on a common boat (2000 lund pro V). I understand that it would be hard to fit like a glove but the differeance between the two sizes I tried (One was two small the other is to big) is to much. Specificly the width of the transom. Again if it fits your boat it should be a excelant cover"

"Fits Fish N Ski boat with full windshield well. Adding an extra foot to the length to account for the trolling motor is plenty almost too much. I put towels over the sharp edges around the windshield and cleats to make sure I didn't tear the cover. You will need to get the cover on fairly tight to ensure you do not get pooling water in the rain. I ran a piece of 3/4 straping from the center of the windshiled to the bow and then from the windshiled to the stern and it worked out great, no puddles (again put towels on the sharp edges)."

"When ordering a boat cover you indicate to order an extra foot, in length, when you have a trolling motor. I would also suggest you order and extra foot, in width, when you have a windshield, as the diagram indicates in the boat cover section. "this cover would be excellant if there was a different way of securing the straps to the trailer. I would have used the buckle for securing at the trailer. I found that when you take the cover off the straps also have to come off the trailer when backing in the water or they just simply get cought on everything. If the straps could be unbuckled at the trailer then then the tension would still the same when putting the cover back on. If you needed to work on your boat you could just unbuckle the straps at the cover and leave the straps on the trailer. The noose design is simple and it works but needs improvement and for the money they could have put 2 sets of buckles on the straps. The cover it self is awesome. 2 buckles would make this a 5 star."
