By GaryinAlaska

"I shopped around the local boat stores and it seemed that Cabela's had the best deal and its tough. I got this boat cover for all around storage outside during summer and winters. It fits great and is easy to use."

Cabela's Ratchet-Tite Boat Cover,
September 4, 2009
By CreeLake
from Alaska
|
"We purchased this cover when we picked up our new boat in Sidney, NE in the fall of 2002. After seven years, including driving 3300 miles to Alaska, the cover is still doing just fine. If this one ever gives out we will buy another just like it."

Boat Cover Review,
June 30, 2009
By DDC1
from PA
|
"The straps that hold the cover down are lightweight, and need to be looped onto the trailer. After few long trips the straps weaken from flapping in the breeze. When you move the trailer to launch the boat you must remove the straps or you will run them over and break them when it moves . Removing the straps cannot be done quickly."

boat cover,
August 18, 2008
By DeadInTheDecoys
from Eastern Washington
|
"Cover worked very well for two duck seasons and three summers. Easy to apply and great for transport. Developed hole where the seat pushed up on the canvas. As it has a seven year guarentee, Cabela's replaced it free of charge. It may not last seven years, but I never had one that would. Believe I would do it again."

Very good, but not perfect.,
August 18, 2008
By nikonweasel

"Overall performance very good, but attachment of hold down straps takes a lot of time. The straps do make the cover very secure for trailering, but remain on the trailer after launch to drag on the ground. If you take them off, you have to reset them all. Loose a couple, and you will have trouble getting securely covered when it's time to go. I've numbered mine after cutting them down, so things do go a bit faster, but there must be a better way of securing a cover. I've got mine on a 1988 Lund WC14Dlx open deep vee fishing boat. A decent mooring cover, but be sure to protect against dock rubbing as the fabric can be cut by abrasion. A couple of wooden bows keeps rain water from pooling."

Boat Cover,
July 8, 2008
By Cspoon
from Knoxville, TN
|
"Fits my Sea Ray 185s (I/O) perfectly. Trailed on freeways for 2000 miles and it stayed on without any problems. VERY water proof. Allows you to customize the tie down straps so I always hook them back to the same snap to assure a good fit while on the trailer. Should work well on the water as well, but you''ll need to prop up the middle to avoid puddles. I checked my boat's specs and called a specialist to ensure I have the right dimensions. Great Product!"

Ratchet-type boat cover- Fishing,
May 6, 2008
By DoubleJ2
from Sterling, NY
|
"Poor design-too open at transom, allowing rain, dust, and insects to enter. In past, have purchased other boat covers from Cabela's that were much better designed with enclosed transom area; however said covers did not appear to be available, so went with current ratchet-type."

"Cover is not large enough to cover boat and windshield. Cover needs to be at least 6" deeper & 1' longer to not leave gaps for rain & snow to enter boat. Straps do excellent job of holding cover on boat."

Nice,

"Very nice boat cover, couldn't fit better unless maybe it was a custom job. I have lots of stuff on my boat like electric anchor mates trolling motor nice seats and the cover still fits very nice. The motor cover fits a 2005 50 HP Mercury two stroke like a glove. Also comes with a bag for stowing the cover when not in use."

Perfect Fit,
July 5, 2007
By klamathdude
from San Francisco Bay Area
|
"I ordered the Ratchet-Tite V-hull 14' cover for my Klamath 14 Deluxe which is about 6" wider than most other 14 footers. The fit was absolutely perfect, even with the bimini to folded down no top of the hull. The straps even worked out to miss all of the protuberances on the trailer and hold tightly at highway speeds. The only possible issue was the motor cover which would probably fit a 175HP motor, not quite what would go on a 14 footer. My 15HP Mercury 2-stroke was swimming in it, but then, it only gets covered when it sits at home. I highly recommend this cover for any flat-top 14' fishing boat."
