"Had always noticed the prop gaurds on other boaters kicker motor and thought I better get one before I tangle up 'ToughLine' in my little Honda. The product mounts easily and really gives me Peace of mind!!"

Prop Saver/cable spared,
March 19, 2009
By Flexmo
from Washington State
|
"Way over due in adding this to my trolling motor. Every time we would ease Starboard while trolling I would worry and pay close attention to the radius of my turn and have to slow my troll speed to keep the port side downrigger cable safe from the kicker's prop. Repositioning the mount of the downrigger only changes the angle and speed at which I might watch for the kicker prop issue. I also like the 360 degree feature as seaweed and other floating junk are much less inclined to get wrapped around my prop. Solid material and well designed to fit my 9.9 High Thrust Yahmaha."

Know your waters,
July 29, 2008
By jake563
from Wa. state
|
"This unit will work well for the designed purpose, sand and gravel bars, shallow waters but use caution if you have lots of driftwood loose as in high waters. I lodged a piece of driftwood on the first outing and bent two blades. That was my wakeup call and will avoid it or remove the shield if driftwood prevails in an area."

Prop Saver,
October 22, 2007
By 2529pike

"I troll around alot of rocks and skinny water. The prop saver really does a great job protecting the prop. I do not think it sacrafices power or turning ability. You have to constant check the bolts to make sure they do not become loose."

Prop Saver,
September 3, 2007
By CRowland
from Roseville, CA
|
"It only took a few minutes to install. All you need is a cordless drill and roughly 10 minutes. The prop saver didn't impact the engine power in any noticable way. I figure I will be money ahead if I prevent one prop from getting damaged on the rocks."

prop saver,
July 10, 2007
By Wayne123
from I live in rural central Maine.
|
"I fish the Penobscot river in central Maine which is full of sand bars, rocks and underwater logs. The river changes from year to year so it is impossible to learn all the bad spots. I have gone through many props in the last decades. The prop saver has already prevented damage to my outboard several times this summer. I should have had this years ago."

Saves Shear Pins,
July 7, 2007
By l9James38
from MO
|
"I was shearing pins at the rate of three an outing while fishing in snag filled water. I haven't sheared one since I installed the prop saver. I installed it on a 3.3 Merc motor. It seemed somewhat pricey, but the cure for the inconvenience and frustation was worth every dollar."

Best I've used.....,
April 10, 2007
By FlyingKnot
from Lake Cumberland KY
|
"The Troll Prop Saver I bought was installed easily on a 4hp Nissan 4stroke on a J12 Carilina Skiff used by my son. The install process was very simple, drilling (4)1/4" holes. 2 on each side of the anti-cav. plate and one in the skeg. The "ring" alligned perfectly with a bit more clearance at the bottom of the prop. Included instructions are clear and concice. The Prop Saver caused no additional vibration or resonance in the boat, and no loss of "blistering" performance. Personally I feel that this is a well designed product that does what it claims to do."

Prop Saver,
November 22, 2006
By Rockey
|
"The prop saver is great for any boater who venters into waterways with varying depths of water or submerged obstructions. Chopped and dinged up props effect the performance of motor and can impact inside working parts like the shaft and gears. This could be the first step of prevention from costly repairs and ruined outings."

This does for my prop what Jesus does for my soul.,
November 20, 2006
By Revival
from Caledonia, MI

"This really works and it works great. It dosen't cut down on the motors power. It is easy to install, everyone is really impressed with this purchase up of mine. 5 years in the same spot and 4 new props, but not this year. I have never had the money to buy two props a year so I would only visit my hot spot once, I have now been there 3 times and not a scratch on the prop. I wish they would come up with something to keep me from denting the bottom of my boat! Trust me this will stay on my boat all year long and I can take my Mud Buddy Fund and spend it on something else."
