"Just purchased a 450 Marlin and it would not eject a loaded cartridge. I was fishing them out by hand. I purchased the bear proof ejector and it installed in minutes. My gun now throws unfired cartridges out with no problem. This part is much better made than the stock ejector and I am ordering one for my 45-70 next."

"Put one of these in my new 1895 before shooting it - ejecting those big, unfired 405 gr. loads is pretty tough on this small part. Probably overkill for a 336, but then again, it wouldn't hurt any. My fifty year old 336 has the original ejector in place, and it doesn't appear any worse for wear, despite being removed frequently for cleaning."

"I had jams with two rounds of .444 Marlin LeveRevolution ammo during a recent range session. The culprit was the factory ejector--it caught the ejected case inside the receiver totally binding the action. I had to remove the lever and bolt to clear the jams (not good when a big Russian boar or an onerey black bear is moving on you). Although the ejector worked okay when the action was smartly cycled, I found it problematic when trying to retrieve cases from the firing line and from beneath other shooting benches. I ordered the Wild West Bear Proof Ejector and installed it in my .444 Marlin. It required no fitting, and works whether I smartly cycle the action, or if I cycle the action slowly. In either instance the Bear Proof ejector ejects cases right out of the action--and straight down to the ground making a neat little pile of cases at my feet. Would I recommend this product--absolutely."

"The Bear proof ejector I recently installed in my Marlin 1985 45-70 is certainly beefier than the factory original ejector but it does not eject cartridges (empty or full) any better than the OEM part does--which is more than adequate. I would recommend this only if you are concerned about the strength of the original ejector and you do a LOT of shooting. It's cheaper just to order a couple spares from Marlin."

"The 1895 OEM ejector is significantly flawed leading to smoke stacks and jams. The WWBPE has totally solved a problem of substantial concern and now allows my .450 1895 to cycle ammo without aggrevation after over one hundred rounds. If you want to take game, or avoid being the game, this is the only sure way to avoid frustration and the potential of being a bear pile."

"I installed the new ejector in my Marlin 1894 just 2 days before a long, hot Cowboy Action Shooting match. The rifle performed smoothly, and ejection was great. The empties land in a slightly different place, but that only gets noticed on brass pick-up. I reccommend this upgrade for any and all high use lever actions."

"This is a well made one piece ejector. If you clean your levergun the proper way - from the breech - you need to get one of these. I shoot my rifle and clean it - ALOT. That means my lever, bolt and ejector are getting taken apart continuously. After time the factory two piece ejector will wear down and break from being removed so much. It only has a small piece of spring steel that 'pops' it out from the frame. Ejection has been as reliable as the factory piece and the new ejector dropped right in. I don't think this will EVER break - but I would still buy 2 and throw one in your shooting bag so you have a spare handy."
