S.S. lever loop,September 15, 2009
By Anonymousfrom chicago, il
"Large lever loop just came today, and not at all happy. Unit dosnt appear to be S.S. looks more like an alike alloy, feels very light for stainless steel. Dosnt come close to matching the S.S. on my Marlin 1895XLR that I bought at Cabelas. I also noticed quite a bit of differance in the machineing from the original loop. The new loop was also full of blemishes. Sorry Cabelas But this ones being sent right back. I will be on the phone with Marlin in the morning and will get there recomendation on where to find a matching large lever loop. If they have no recomendations then this 45-70 is staying stock other then the ejector spring."

Its worth it!,May 8, 2009

"Hunting with my Guide Gun this past hunting season was fun. But I only had one problem , temperatures were in the twenties degree range . I didn't have this Wild West Big lever last hunting season. I had to take my glove off to operate the lever action. I decided to buy a big lever before next Hunting season. It only took me less than ten minutes to install this new lever. It fits perfect to my Marlin Guide Gun like it was factory made. The only difference is the stainless steel finish on the lever is matted and not polished like the rest of my Guide Gun. But I don't care , I bought it so I can wear gloves . Thank you Cabelas !"

Wild West Big Loop Lever,January 5, 2009

"Very good quality and would highly recommend this product. It will allow use of the rifle while wearing gloves (which are worn during most deer seasons in the Midwest) which the stock lever does not due to its smaller opening. I don't have large hands, but this lever is much more comfortable, not overly "big", and makes establishing a quick grip through the lever easy.
The lever is simple to install and required no fitting. It is very solid and feels stiffer than the factory lever. You can remove the old parts from your current lever (finger lever plunger, finger lever plunger pin, and finger lever plunger spring) or simply purchase these parts seperately (total is about $10) and install them on this lever. This way you can have two seperate levers for warm or cold hunts. Installation of the parts is simple and will only require a 1/16" punch and a small hammer."

"Metal finish is a little rough. However, installation was easy and this mechanism functions flawlessly leaving plenty of room for an average gloved hand to pump shells thru your smokestick."

"Purchaed the stainless for my 1895 guide, fit and finish was great. Although the instructions indicatedb some minor gunsmithing for fit, I had no problem. The only fitting I had was that the WWG lever did not come with the plunger that locks the lever, I had to remove this from the marlin lever; which consisited of removing a small pin and spring. These parts fit prefictly in the WWG lever.
Had this lever for around 3 years, works great w/gloves"
