"This lure works great for working the edge of weedlines and dropoffs, but it also works great for trolling. I was paddling my kayak into heavy wind and I was trolling the Shad Rap in about 15-20' of water and landed a nicely sized Pike! I've since stepped up to the 11-size Minnow Rap to see if that works better on Pike."

"I have used this lure previously but this year it paid off and then sum. Sounds crazy but I also purchased a count down - same colors. Well this year the water was up and I needed to go a little deeper and this was the lure. It was so hot that my buddies on the trip tied on the same lure (they are die hard countdown guys). I was the man that day for having purchased several of these lures.
I am quickly becoming a fan of Rapala lures and hoping to explore some of the other lines they carry. Still trying to learn which lures work best for situation and species of fish.

"These never fail! SR7 and SR8 are by far the best walleye and pike baits I have ever used. Walleye color once again produced a large pike. The jointed ones don't work as well. Bright colors also work well. I always stock up on these before every canada trip. Buy plenty because large pike are strong fish and they can destroy these great baits."

"As far as crankbaits go for bass, the Rapala Shad Rap, in the shad color especially, is nearly impossible to beat! It's for sure my go to lure for both smallmouth and largemouth when the plastics aren't working. I have years of fishing experience under my belt and still learning all the time, but what I do know is that this lure outperforms others in many scenarios. Fish it deep along a rock bottom, troll is slowly along banks with wood cover, or just about anything and you'll find success with this lure! It will even catch the occasional trout!"

"I fish crankbaits almost exclusively and I fish hard. Shad Raps are great lures. The only problem is that Rapala discontinues colors quite frequently and it always seems to be some of the best ones. When you find something that works on a specific water, make sure you have a good supply."
