"I have a 90+ lb. German Shepherd who is only one year old and this keeps him at bay in our SUV. Great purchase for your money. Will work for any size dog - it does help if your dog is trained to stay in the back though. You really can't go wrong if your dog is in the car often."

"Easy to install, could have a better way to hold the expandable sides. My springers quickly learned that they were able to nudge the expansions back and gain access to the front of the vehicle. A couple of smal hose clamps, one on each bar stopped that practice though. overall a good product, with quick delivery."

"I am using this on a 2002 Explorer with the rear seat folded down. It installs easily in minutes. I have a Springer Spaniel and have not had problems with it coming down. If your dog is a maniac than nothing can help you anyway. I don't have the extension. Don't really need it. Might need something to cover the cloth on the back seat to keep mud off."

"I bought this to use in the rear of my SUV, near the tailgate - so I could take my dogs with me on warm days, leave windows a few inches open and tailgate window open for a good draft and they wouldn't get too hot while I was on errands, but they wouldn't get out of the car easily.
It works well enough, altho I thought installation and removal might be a bit easier. It installs with threaded wingnuts that expand the vertical bars to fit the cabin; you simply screw the nuts until it's a good tight fit. To take it out, unscrew them a couple of turns and push; it comes out. Somehow, putting it back in always requires more than just a couple of turns, though! It would be nicer if it could be screwed up to fit and then locked in place, sort of a permanent fix for that vehicle - then just flip the locks to release and remove - no constant re-adjustment necessary.
But I'm whining. It works for me and my dogs, they love coming on errands with me, and I'm pleased that they are cooler and safer in the heat for short trips."

"Great concept-definitely not for use with big dogs.I have 90# lab and this device was annihilated within 5 minutes.Does work pretty good to keep the crate in place as that seems the only option."

If it is installed in a span not right in back of the seat backs
it does not cover a large area from roof to floor unless you purchase additional parts, but overall satisfied with quality and functionality"

"Pretty easy to put together. The side rails are adjustable but don't tighten down.
The up and down adjustability is quick and easy, but you really have to snug it down to keep it in place. We have a larger dog (shepherd/great dane mix) and he pushed his head through the bars and knocked it over. We just have to tighten everything down periodically."

"I searched months for a reasonably priced dog barrier for my SUV. The extreme difference in price from different sources is amazing. From well over $100, to $39.00, for the same or similar product. I did not want to purchase a product from an unknown or to me a web-site I could not trust just because of price.
When I found the price I wanted from Cabela's, I jumped on it. Great price from a source I knew I could trust.
I'm very satisfied with the purchase process, the shipping and especially the product itself. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Easy to install and works great."

"Fits like a glove in my 1985 4Runner. Seems to do the trick, so far. Easy to assemble and install.
Extension bar slide grommets could be a little more substantial to limit movement."

"The barrier works OK except that it is virtually impossible to tighten the uprights tight enough to keep my Chessie pup from pulling it down. It lasts for a trip or two and then I have to get in the back seat and tighten it up again. Good for the price."

"After recieving the product we were somewhate dissapointed it seems the picture in the catalouge was just vague enough to lead us to believe it was much heavier, and more durable than it actually is. The tubular construction is actually light aluminum and 3/8 inch diameter, the side bars do not lock they simply slide and the tension required to truly secure the uprights caused damage to the headliner. The picture shows a lage dog but we found that medium size dogs as we have, were easy to move the bars and access the front of the vehicle , both horizontal and vertical"
