"This in my opinion is the perfect locking mechanism for your ATV /UTV while trailering it.
It was easy to install and does the intended job flawlessly! If you are looking for the security of your machine this is all your going to need to keep it where you put it while it is left unattended. I purchased this for my Elk hunting trip in Wyoming and just returned from a 30 day hunt. The Quad was safe and untampered with the whole time way from it.
I wish I had thought of this system!!"

Almost the perfect product,

"The trailer dog works really well, my atv stays exactly where I put it even on rough tracks. The only problem I have with it is that the receiver which slots into the baseplate is a little high and my atv catches on it when loading and unloading onto the trailer. I know I could unbolt the sliding fixture but this is a bit of a pain and as far as I am concerned one bolt too many. Despite this it does the job perfectly. I am pleased with my purchase."

"I installed this product in my 5 x 10 enclosed cargo trailer to transport my 4 wheeler. I added two strips of angle iron under the floor in order that all six bolts were through steel and not just the wood floor. The Trailer Dog works great. I have been using a "Louisiana Guard Dog" when I carry my 4 wheeler in the back of my pick up truck for several years. Both systems are much better and safer then tie down straps."

"jut installed my trailer dog. had to do some modifications . it worked great for my quads but for my prowler it pushed her to far ahead to much tongue weight.although it was installed has close as possible to the back of the trailer it still moved the prowler to far ahead.I welder a piece of 2" tubing on the back side so instead of attaching to the ball on the prowler the 2" just slides into the receiver. then when I carry a quad I just flip it around to it's original position. I think with this mod. it will work find for all my bikes . sever people including my dealer have looked at it and we think it is a perfect set up good product."

"I installed this system inside my enclosed cargo trailer along with the ATV wheel chocks that Cabelas sells. I modified the installation so that the upright is slightly off to one side instead of behind the ball and it works great. I would give it five stars but I have not actually trailered the ATV down the road yet but I am confident that it will perform fine."

"The only negative thing that I have to say about this product is that the set bolts are a poor grade of bolt and strip out too easy. After I replace them with a higher grade I had no problems out of it."

"The trailer dog is a heavy duty item that performs as advertised relative to holding a wheeler in place. I could not honestly give it the "excellent" rating, however, because of the relatively small difficulty in aligning the trailer dog with my UTV, which happens to be one of the larger models . The problem is unlike the regular 4-wheelers shown on the video where you simply "rock and scoot" the rear to match up the ball on the wheeler with the hitch on the trailer dog, the large UTV's don't scoot - at least not with one person! Therefore, it is necessary to perform a pretty precise alignment as the UTV is loaded onto the trailer. Obviously, there are several approaches to address this problem, but the owners of the larger UTV's need to be aware that quick alignment to use the trailer dog will take some enterprising solution that is not included in the box."

"Great product. I would definitely recomend this product especially for the heavier utility wheelers. Only con is it needs to be about 2-3" taller. I need to compress the rear shocks to get it to load. I have a sportsman 700 with stock wheels and tires and with 2 tie downs nothing moves."

"The "Louisiana Trailer Dog" is just GREAT. I was so tired of working with the tiedown straps and this makes it so easy to keep my ATV on the trailer. It was easy to install and I like the ability to lock it so no one can easily get it off the trailer, mainly when you stop for gas or getting something to eat. If there were any improvments I would recommend it would be the finishing touches of the product. There was alot of "weld slag" on the base plate that could have been removed and the "paint quality was poor".
Maybe a power coat paint would improve the quality of appearance and would last longer.
I would say if you are looking for a tie down this is the one you want, very well built and heavy duty. "Try it, you'll like it"

"works awesome! have used it for a couple months. Didnt look easy to install, gave my friend a couple mixers he did it for me. You could flip your trailer over and the gaurd dog will still hold on. im not going to test it! Trust me this is a great product. All my friends are buying it and even random people who see it want to buy it."

"Very well made and definitely works well. The only complaint I have is that the bolt and screws do not tighten down under the frame very well. Could have used more washers or the screws should have been dipped so they are easy to screw on all the way. Despite that, the system is secure and is definitely not going to budge."
