Minn Kota 55 Endura Trolling Motor,
October 20, 2008
By Digital
from Tallahassee, FL
|
"The Minn Kota Endura 55 is a good motor for power, ease of use and reliability. Mine is used to explore and do photography on rivers and lakes in Florida. The motor is run 3-5 hrs. pretty much nonstop at a time. I run at speed 3 of 5 most of the time; and can easily go 4 hrs. on one battery. Since I carry two bateries I'm trying to only run 3 hrs. on my first battery and then switch to the second battery. I really appreciate speed 5's power when the wind or current gets strong and you're getting pushed where you don't want to go. That extra power spurt makes a big difference. The reason I'm only using each battery 3 hrs. is to even out useage of my batteries and have a reason to put a fresh charge on them at the end of the day. If you'll recharge your batteries as soon as you get back from a session on the water they'll last longer and continue to hold a good charge like when new."

Great Motor,
July 10, 2008
By Traprjon
from Lake Sunapee area, NH

"I use this motor with 2 canoes bolted together side by side. The 54# of thrust pushes the tandem canoes (1 is 16' 9" and the other is 15' 8" lined up and paralel with each other) with 4 people aboard at a fair speed. The motor depth and tilt functions are easy to use while seated in the canoe. The only modification I made was to add jumper cable type clamps to the motors battery cables."

"I ordered a Minn Kota 55 on line for our 16 ft. Sportsman. I had previously talked to a Cabela's salesman @ the new Post Falls, Id. store and he recommended the 55. The Minn Kota arrived promptly and preformed exactly as the saleman told us. We're very satisfied."

"This motor amazed me...As a trolling motor on this large boat, it is perfect. It is used for safety backup in the front of my 22' Pontoon...Great for docking in close quarters... I am pleasantly surprized with the power and control. Thanks"

"I recently purchased this motor for or use on my 12 foot Pligan boat (same as a Crawdad ) and I had a choice between the 50 lb thrust and the 55 lb thrust I got the 55 lb as it was only $15 more. It was well worth the difference. I have a 80 lb trust 24 volt on my 18 ft Polar Kraft. My friend also bought the same motor and he feels the same way"

"I've used their products before and have been pleased with them. No difference this time, they have wonderful products and this one is great for the application I bought it for. I've not had it long enough to tell about the longevity of it but if its as good as the ones I've owned before, I'll be more than pleased with it."

Good product,

"I use this on my 14' Tracker V-14 boat. I use it on lakes where there is a trolling motor only restriction and to troll for walleye and stripers. It will get my boat moving about 3 mph top speed. It has a lot of power and seems to not eat the battery up too much. The different speeds are smooth to switch from. The reverse speeds are good and work great for back trolling. Does not seem to build up heat and cuts through weeds like a hot knife through butter."

What a deal!!!!!,

By fishintherockies

"I am very happy with the 55lb Minn Kota. I had an older 30 but it just did not have the power in the wind to get us off the lake in my 14' alluminum. I live in Colorado and we have alot of lakes that don't let us use gas motors so we have to have an alternative power system and this one is perfect."

"I purchased a Endura 55lb thrust trolling motor from cabellas and I have had nothing but trouble with it. I have used it two times and both times I had to quit fishing because the motor got hot or quit altogether.I have had it to the dealer twice and will have to go to get it repaired again. Both times the dealer said it was the switch inside the handlel. If it happens again I will let Johnson motors know that I want a new motor or my money back This is rediculous!"

Great for inflatables,
May 19, 2007
By Graymalkin
from Roanoke, VA
|
"The Minn-Kota Endura 55 is a great choice for inflatables. It has plenty of power for our Sea Eagle SE-8. We considered a small gasoline outboard, but many of the lakes we visit only permit electric motors. It turns out the Endura 55 is a better choice for us overall: affordable, versatile, sufficient thrust, and quiet. I'd recommend the Minn-Kota Endura 55 for anyone looking for an electric trolling motor for inflatable watercraft."
