"These are the best fluke hooks around, they are durable and sharp. Strip baits flutter nicely when hooked properly on them. However, i would warn you that they do run quite small, you would probably do well to order a size up."

"I use the Matzuo black chrome units in 5/0 for King salmon and silvers. I have been impressed with their holding ability - they can be difficult to remove from the fish's mouth after you get it in the boat!. For Kings we troll and use different presentations of herring. I use a double hook on my leaders with the front hook as a slider. Especially with the cut-plugs and fillet strips we have found that in nearly every case we get both hooks buried into the salmon's mouth! I believe the fine wire and the design really bury the points well past the barbs.
For silvers we use flashers and plastic skirts (hootchies). The double Matzuo hook leaders with the skirts are deadly. If they bite the skirts they are as good as in the fish box. I am spreading the word to all of my fishing friends."

"I really like these hooks. I have used them flat lining shad for stripers. They are very strong and have a very good positive hook set. In some cases I feel more secure using these hooks than a circle hook due to the fact you don't have to have the fish swimming away from you. These hooks will positively set in any good condition."
