"I have used this now twice. I redid my boat and this was part of the upgrade. Love It !!! Water temp, speed, voltage meter, distance travelled etc etc etc. Loaded with features. "Unit lets you figure how fast your going and adjust it accordingly. Sounds fine if you have a measured mile of water and a stop watch handy. As a moderately priced fish finder fine, for speed and mileage covered forget it. I happen to like that info for gas consumption as my cans don't display on the dash."

"I recently installed the new Fishmark 480 in place of my old Eagle unit. The install went very well since everything matched up perfect. I did not have to drill any new holes in my boat. I test drove it over the weekend and it worked perfectly as expected. This new unit has twice the pixels and twice the power of my previous unit so I was very pleased with the clarity and images I was seeing. The main difference was the bottom definition. The gray line was very easy to read as was the rock formations and the ledges. We were in 90 feet of water off the coast of Southern California and we were seeing clearly fish hugging the rock formations. It sure made for a successful day fishing. My only issue was I had a little problem getting used to the menu functions but over the course of the day it got easier.
Good medium priced sonar unit."

"I am very happy with the fish mark. There are a couple of things that you should know. First, you will have to adjust a few of the settings when you get on the water. The screen contrast and the sensitivity. Once you get those set, then you can get back to fishing. Now, the resolution is great but the images on the screen are small. I have found that I always run on 2X zoom to get the clarity and definition I need in the fish marks (hooks). This cuts out the top 5' or so but the cone angle is small in that zone and you probably won't miss anything anyway. The only draw back I found is that the cable connections are just plug in pin connectors. They look delicate and I dont know how many times they will plug in and out before failing. Time will tell. For the money this is a great alternative to the more expensive color models and I am happy."

"I recently purchased a Fishmark 480 and was amazed at what a difference it made on my first trip. We were able to locate structure and the fish that were holding at about 8 feet in 20 feet of water. We caught fish knowing where and how deep to fish. I would highly recommend one to anyone who wants to improve their take at the lake.
