yellow bird junk,July 4, 2009
By 2grunnyfrom minnesota
"purchased 4 big birds for Michigan salmon fishing trip, spoiled whole trip. osprey releases that were gaurenteed not to release, would release with first wave , or would dive with roller waves. tried diff methods double line in front osprey stll released. use rubber band in hole then line and when fish hit would still release and board floted free. tried wiring back osprey with wire thu loops and when big salmon hit would rip wire thru loops. had tripple on with rough waves. lost 2 yellow birds and one of the fish. had to buy one good off shore planer board with tension release to see how good boards worked."

"The best going. Had outstanding results for Brown and Lake Trout on Lake Michigan. Make sure of the line hook-up, osprey line holders are better than the line clips."

"i caught my first 20+ striper on this planer, and have caught many more since purchasing these planers.i believe if i were to buy another one i might get the larger ones just to see if they do any better with large baits such as trout. over all these have done the job for me"

Yellow Bird,June 30, 2008
By wrw78from Green Bay, WI
"I have fished with these for years on Lake Michigan, and the bay of Green Bay, in my opinion they are/were the best trolling board Now here is my grip, and I hope yellow bird fixes this. The pinch releases are JUNK! They will trip in the lightest walleye chop. So I have to take them off and purchase the Scotty releases for $5.00 to make them work."

yellow bird side planers,November 20, 2006
By Nighthawk55from Midwest
"These have been around for a long time and work great. They still use the same releases they used twenty years ago and could be improved. If your going to troll large deep diving lures you might want to use the larger size planers. They work great for most rapala style baits and are almost indestructable."
