Composite fishing rod rack,July 4, 2008

"I found this rack to a great buy for the price. It is made out of some kind of composite material that does flex a little. This worked out well for me as I installed it in my barn over top of some insulation on top of the studs. The flex allowed it to conform very well to the wall. The only drawback may be how well it will hold up, because of the material. Seems to be strong enough right now as long as I am carefull with it, shouldn't be a problem. Standard size rods fit well,even the very small diameter ones. I have a couple of heavy cat fish poles that just barely fit, only with some manipulation of the rubber holder."

"The fishing rod rack is easy to install. The only issue is when using the rack to hold a fly rod the fly rod does not fit inside both of the rubber stoppers. It does hold the fly rod in place if you pull on the stoppers in front of the fly rod."

"Simple to install. Good quality. Small rods and reels fit perfect, but larger ocean rods fit 4-5 per rack. If you have the wall space (16" per rack) these are the best solution at a great price."

"This rack serves my need to get my rods out of the way in my garage. Works like a pool cue rack. Mounting holes are 16" on center, which is good, but the rack is difficult to mount if you want to use 2 racks side by side. Height must be offset slightly. Make sure that you plan on putting a rod in every other slot if you want to leave the reels attached. I am happy with the product and the Cabela's price was fair. Accomodates everything from my ultralight trout rods all the way up to my large ocean trolling rods with 6-0 reels."
