The optimum choice for the rod of a lifetime because this water-clear, non-yellowing, one-part urethane finish will downright outlast the rod itself. It eliminates bulky buildup on the rod windings, and it's the perfect finish for rods subject to harsh sunlight and weather. Also a great protective coating for wood real seats. Available: 1 oz., 4 oz.

Perma Gloss,September 22, 2007

"I like this finish because it is low build and provides a more classic look to the thread wraps. This same company makes fine high build finishes, too, but for my taste Perma Gloss gives my rods the look I want. It cures in just minutes (you can recoat in an hour) and this speeds the project and, even more importantly for me, helps keep dust out of the cured finish. I have also used it to finish wood landing nets; it protects the wood well and is tough. You will have to use it relatively quickly once the bottle is opened because it is precatalyzed - this makes it easy to use (no mixing, no bubbles) but it also means that the product will cure in the bottle. Putting a clean ball bearing in the bottle (to reduce air), pouring out what is needed and quickly closing the bottle, keeping the bottle in a plastic container with a desicant, all help to extend its bottle life. Also, don't buy more than you can use soon. However, this inconvenience is for me very much offset by its ease of use and the fine look it gives the thread wraps."

"This stuff is Great for doing feather inlays, applying to guide wraps, and sealing inscriptions and decals. Not to mention putting a thin coat on the Entire blank to give it a "Glossy" coat!"

"I use this to coat twice over on thread, before applying epoxy coats, and have no problems. It is crystal clear and easy to use."
