Solid boat,April 6, 2009
By DaveL123from small lake fishing
"I have this boat with the fish package, wood floor and motor mount, in my experience:
The boat inflates very easy by itself but the floor and the motor mount adds time, it takes at least 30 min+ from the back of the truck to having it in the water with all the fishing gear in it. The boat and wood parts take up a lot of space and are cumbersome; you will need more than just a car trunk to carry it. It has a great one way valve fill system 2 can fish comfortably, 3 uncomfortably, 4 maybe if 3 were small well behaved kids and everyone shares a single tackle box
Bottom line, Pros, comfortable 2 man small water fishing boat that works great with a trolling motor Cons Set Up is longer than advertized, cumbersome to haul/store (but much better than a regular boat). Consider the inflatable pontoon boat supposed to be easier set up and store with all the Pros as well"

sea eagle boat,August 21, 2007
By karlwarriorfrom Riverton , WY
"I have owned the sea eagle 9 for four years and I use it extensively in mountain lakes, flatland lakes and steams. I got the motormount kit and the floorboard. I was amazed at the ease of which this sets up(less than 15 min from bag to water) I have used it with a motor and with the oars with equal ease. The only drawback I have encountered is still fishing in the wind. I have a ten pound mushroom anchor and if the wind is strong enough, it will blow the boat downwind."

"When you get into the price range of this boat and others by other companies, you find more substantial boats like these. They have USCG identification and serial numbers. In the case of some of the larger ones, or if you add a motor (even electric) you need at least this type of boat to get it registered with your state DMV. Want to go on a lake at a public park? Better have a boat with registration! You can't use what can be considered pool toys... the $25-75 rafts often fit in this category, even the ones in the ones in the $75-150 price range may not be allowed. I have registered a Sea Eagle 9. I have a 40 lbs thrust electric trolling motor for it. I also try to row it, because it is good exercise and this boat has the length to width ratio that makes for excellent rowing. I have used it for two years on small and large lakes. This year I plan to do some traveling along the Hudson River in NY with it. I feel very confident that this boat will transport myself, my wife and my elementary school aged child in comfort and safety. My guess is it will last about 5 years because it gets used a lot. It gets stored in my basement, still about 75% inflated when not in use. Leaving outdoors, or any other boat like it for long periods of time will shorten its lifespan."
