"Best reel I ever owned for the price after decades of fishing in brackish and salt waters. It stands up with minimum maintenace despite sand and salt. "This reel is worth investing in if you snag for paddlefish. This reel brought in 10 fish over 20 pounds including a 55 pound giant. I could easily cast 80+ yards out with a 3oz weight. The drag was perfect for hauling in the fish. you won't regret it."

"For the money, this thing works great. I have had no saltwater related problems. Everything is still working after two years of pretty heavy saltwater use (I wadefish with this and it gets wet).
The thing I don't like is that the line has a tendency to stick on the drag adjustment knob when you first start reeling in (after a cast). It wraps a few times around this drag adjustment knob, then when you go to cast it comes loose and makes a big rats nest in your line. I use braid so this is almost impossible to get straightened out without cutting the line.
Due to this, if I have to depend on the reel for a whole weekend, I definitely need extra line."

"Broke the 5th time I used it. The bail won't click back over. I love Cabela's, but have had bad luck with their branded gear. Whuppin stick also broke and believe me, I take care of my stuff. Hopefully they will take it back for a refund or an exchange, the only problem is they are over an hour away and I want to fish now! I guess another wasted 1/2 day driving their and back + F-250 gas!!!!"
