Locktite # 242(Blue) should be used on the threads of the bolt. The instructions say to use 2 turns to secure the XRIII to the bolt, you should keep turning the Anode until it is tight against the XRIII.

"I purchased a Stingray hydrofoil for my I/O Larson. The first time it was on it broke my cavitation plate ($300 repair). Moreover, as I attempted to contact the company that made it because they clam “satisfaction guaranteed” and “one year warranty”- nothing was done. Not only do I feel that this is a very poor product, it is also a company that will not offer any customer service nor will it stand behind their claims. I would strongly suggest NOT buying this product!"

"Returned this product, did not use. THe hydrafoil slipped on the motor's cavitation plate like a glove. The problem was that there was no way to attach it. I would have lost the hydrafoil the first time out. . I was extremely dissapointed in the way that this product attaches to the motor. I would not reccomend this to anyone."

"I put the StingRay on my new 200 Yamaha 4-stroke and it decreases bow rise dramatically. It reduces porpoising somewhat so I am able to run with a bit more tilt at speed and should be getting better fuel economy. It has increased my top end a bit as well. I did have to drill the holes in the forward end and install the SS bolts to stabilize it but that's OK. I feel it's a better installation that way. Overall I am very satisfied with the StingRay XRIII Senior. I think it will really be an asset when I get a chance to use it for water Skiing. As with my old StingRay it will definitely get skiers up in a fraction of the time it would take without it. That's where it really shines."

"This product does everything as advertised. Installation required only 5 minutes with no drilling. Now my boat planes quicker, is more responsive at slower speeds, and most of the rough water "porpoising" is eliminated. I would highly recommend this to any serious boater."

"my wife and i were invited to a boat rite,the boat was a 16ft fiberglass deep V . i was amased at the short time it took for that boat to plane. the motor was a 115HP johnson with a XRII stingray attached.the next day i ordered the XRIII senior stingray.my boat is a 1750 crestliner super fish,motor is a mercury 115HP four cycle engine.up here its still winter.i will install the unit in may.i em looking forward to try it out then."

"I fish Kootenay Lake in BC (huge Lake) the water get very rough the stingray get me on a plane very fast and stabilized the boat 18ft with 90HP. Very easy to install I should of read the installation procedure a little more where it said do not over tighten to much I strip the anode, but am one of these guys that only read after the fact??

"The StingRay hydrofoil does what I was looking for in a hydrofoil. We have a 75 hp 4 cycle Mercury engine on a 17ft boat. Because of the addtional weight of the 4cycle engine it took full throttle to plane the boat up for running speed and it was nearly impossible to run at low speeds like 10mph as required on some lakes. The hydrofoil lets the boat plane up by just increasing speed gradually. The bow never raises up like it did before. We can travel at 10mph and not plow through the water and leave a huge wake.
My only criticism is I had to modify it some to fit the motor."

"i just repowered my 21 foot seaswirl striper with a yamaha f150. it would not get up on plane without someone sitting in the bow. i can now get on plane in 6 seconds, full speed in 10 seconds. definately less bow rise, but speed seemed a little slower. overall, much better!"

"The "StingRay" mounted on my Mercury 115HP with ease. NO HOLES NEEDED TO BE DRILLED!!!!!! As far as performance it does exactly what the manufacturer said it would do. My main problem was getting the Lund ProSport to plain off fast. Now it plains off perfectly. I would reccommend this product if you want better performance from your boat, plus get increased gas mileage since you're not plowing water at the start. Satisfied Customer in Wisconsin"
