"I bought the CCRadio Plus about two years ago and took it on my annual September fishing trip to Maine. It has proven to be invaluable in keeping informed of foul weather. The AM and FM bands pull in stations strongly and clearly and the large speaker gives full sound, especially when listening to talk programs. Love the alarm feature and I also plugged in my MP3 player to enjoy a collection of 1000 songs I brought with me. While it's home, it sits on my night table for use as my main alarm clock radio. It's dependable because it also runs on batteries and does not shut off during an electical outage, which happens fairly often where I live. Love this radio."

"I've had to purchase my 3rd C. Crane Plus radio in the last 12 years. No, they've not worn out or been lost, my sons have needed them for their homes, camping and boating, especially in dangerous weather. I've even used mine in the Rockies to listen for the radio reports for hunter's emergency information. It also has been a comfort listening to a Saturday football game, very quietly in my deer blind, just before the big nap. I recommend this radio, oh yea, you do get what you pay for."

"I have a remote cabin in northeast MN near the Canadian border. I wanted a radio that would bring in AM radio stations. This radio does much better than other radios I have tried from that location, but not as well as I had hoped.
It does however bring in the FM stations much better, the sound is very good, and the controls are easy to use. A bit pricey, but am satisifed with the purchase."

"If you love a.m. radio this is the best radio to buy. It has incredible capability to pull in distant a.m. stations with its large ferrite magnet. The speaker is specifically tuned to broadcast the human voice. Yes, it is a little pricey and you could buy a portable FM/AM boombox, but you would not be able to listen to am. I love to listen to sports talk radio, but could not pick up any a.m. signals in my car, house, home stereo... with CC Plus Radio I can tune in distant a.m. stations in my basement and garage. This radio is great around the house and for camping. I take it with me when: grilling; camping; yard work; beach. FM reception is also outstanding. Includes weather and TV channels. The weather channel is great to have. On the negative side, once TV goes completely digital in feb of 09'... the tv channels will pick up who knows what? Customer Service at C.Crane (who make the radio) is outstanding."

"The CC Plus Radio has a lot of nice features. I purchased the radio for the advertised AM reception. I have used the radio several times now, and the reception is marginally better than other AM radios I have. I'm not entirely impressed with the radio. Based on the cost, I think you could live with the lower reception."

"Catalog describes concentration on AM band. I noticed no difference in an extensive test. In my opinion this is a very expensive choice that didn't live up to its billing. I returned the CC radio. Just nothing to distinguish this item."

"The CC Plus radio is a well constructed item. I purchased it in order to receive AM broadcasts in remote areas. However, considering the very high purchase price I can not reccomend the radio. AM reception was slightly better than other radios but not to the degree necessary to justify the additional cost. The radio is also somewhat large and heavy for transportation to remote campsites."

"The CC Radio plus is the perfect radio for every day use. I can enjoy the incredible voice quality on AM talk radio and listen to great sounding music on FM. I am able to receive excellent reception in my office and at my distant hunting camp at 9,500 feet in the mountains. Other great features include the weather alert system and alarm clock. I can't speak for the weather alert system since I haven't used that feature but the alarm clock has waken me for many of treks into the woods. This radio does all that it claims to do, exceptional sound and reception quality!"
