federal truball,

"I bought a few boxes of these and several other brands for my charles daly 20ga. I shot them at fifty yards from a rest and was able to get a 1" group out of the truballs and about a 3" average out the others. The Federals had more recoil to them and they shot cleaner than the other brands. I will be using them to deer hunt this year and will write another review on there performance on game animals."

"I have used many types of slugs on the market, and none have been as accurate as these. I was able to shoot 3 inch groups at 100 yards on a bench, without one of those sand bag gun holder thingys. They have great knockdown power and deer this year have not ran more than 10 feet after getting hit. The low recoil slugs are good for sighting in, and the high recoil slugs are good in the field, and you don't feel the kick with all the clothes you may be wearing. I will buy another 5 boxes for reserves."

"These slugs shot very well out of a 26" bbl with an IC choke tube and maintained tight groups out to around 70 yards which is very respectable for a smoothbore slug gun.
However when shooting out of an 18 1/2" cylinder barrel the accuracy suffered a bit and i was only ablt to obtain 5-6" groups at 50 yards.
I dont think that the slug was able to get a good seal with the larger .729 bore diameter, hower with a .715 choke tube these shells outperformend many of the competitors slugs"

"Cant get over how accurate these slugs work out of my Remington 1100 smooth bore... sighted in at 50 yds and was putting 3 in a 9 inch paper plate at 75 yds... with enough accuracy to do the job....
Best smooth bore ammo I shot over the years....

"I can't tesitfy to it's hunting capabilities yet, but I am impressed with the accuracy. I'm not what I'd call a crack shot by any means, but the first 5 shells of this Truball I put through my Mossberg 590A1 w/20" brl and Knoxx Spec Ops stock, using only it's ghost ring sights, hit a 4 inch tree (I checked) 4 out of 5 times at about 80 yards. This was also done off hand, no brace. Good enough for me."

"I was going to buy a slug barrel for my Benelli nova pump But I thought after reading about these slugs I would try them first . Well I'm glad I did at 75yds I took my first buck ever sweet 8 point. The federal tru ball riffled slug was on the money and where I put the sight the slug hit Now I could put that money I saved on other things I need from Cabela's"

"These slugs amaze me with the accuracy they achieve out of a smooth bore, at less than half the cost of sabots. I placed a scope on my Remington 870 smooth bore, a deer within a hunderd yards is in serious trouble. Just make sure you clean your bore often, as it leads up fast."

"These slugs work great. I shoot them trough my Benelli SBE 2 with a mod. choke topped with a simmons scope and i get 2 inch groups at 100 yards. Very satisfied as i have shot 5 deer with these in the last four years. The last one was my biggest buck ever at twenty yards on the run and it rolled him! I will always be using these."

"i shot 20rds or 4 boxes of these and they were great. i shot it out of my remington 870 wingmaster which was a smoothbore. at 70 yards i never miss a shot in the target. i got 8 in the 10!!! and the rest in the 9. the best shotshell and the most accurate for smoothbore barrels. these are affordable and dont buy those cheap rifle slugs by winchester. make sure you buy these!!"

"They work as advertised in smooth bore shotguns, creating some artificial rifling action for a bit more consistency than you would expect with plain slugs. No substitute for a rifled bore, but it beats buying another shotgun (or barrel) for an occasional use."
