Nice,August 11, 2009
By danarchy11from Schuylkill County, PA
"I picked this lure up today. I decided I wanted to try it out when I got home. It was still late afternoon-early evening when I went out so the fish weren't too aggressive. After 8-12 casts with this lure, the fish were going nuts! While I didn't catch anything on this lure, I still gave it 5 stars because it caused an explosion of top-water hits. Something about the sporadic movement and ultra-loud rattling created a top-water feeding frenzy. I wasn't getting anything on this lure so I put my poppers on. Got a lot of nice, big hits on that."

Freshwater Skitter Walk,June 16, 2009

"The baby bass color combination works better flats fishing than it does in frest water. Sea Trout seem to love it... I don't care if you call it fresh water or not as long as the trout don't know the difference."

I got my biggest topwater bass with this Rapala!,September 10, 2007
By RobertMfrom Sonora, CA
"I purchased the Rapala Skitter Walk in Hot Metal color to see how it compared with other topwater baits such as the Zara Spook and Lucky Craft Sammy. Yesterday was the first day I fished with this lure. I got on the lake about 3:00 p.m. and found the fishing slow, only getting two strikes on a plastic worm in several hours, with only one taking the bait and making it to the float tube to be released "back into the wild". I did some jerk bait and crankbait fishing as the sun got lower in the sky, but didn't get a bite on 'em. As the sun began to sink behind the foothills surrounding the lake I decided to try a topwater bait - the Rapala Skitter Walk for the first time. I liked the way it bobbed up and down, with its tail deep in the water, and how it zipped across the surface as I ripped it with snaps of the rod. As it rested in it tail down position after working it along the shoreline, a huge explosion erupted around the lure. After a wonderful fight, I brought the 8+ pound largemouth bass to the tube, took some pictures and released it. This was the largest topwater bass I have ever caught in the 20+ years I've been fishing. Thank you Rapala for a wonderful topwater lure!"

Wow... ...,July 11, 2007
By much2nvfrom Grand Rapids, MI
"What an awesome lure! My first morning using this... I caught 6 smallmouth in about 45 minutes. I purchased the baby bass and it was incredible! I read the other reviews and they really helped out (thanks). You need to let it sit ... jerk, jerk, jerk... sit and WHAM! Do not be afraid of letting it sit, I had one sit for about 15-20 seconds while I took a sip of coffee and a 19 1/2" - 4 1/2 lb. SMALLMOUTH hammered it! Over 2 days, I caught a total of 11 bass and 2 pike on it. I plan on purchasing a couple more for "back up"! Good luck!!!! Chad"

Excellent topwater bait!!,March 28, 2007
By GimmeBeerfrom Roseville, MN
"One of my all time favorite topwater bait....Bass and northern pikes can't resist it....Easy to walk with great casting distance....Every angler who loves using topwater should carry some in their tackle....The best time to start using this lure is when the sun is starting to set...Cast it far with a slow stop and go retrieve....."

One of my best topwater lures...,November 22, 2006
By Anonymousfrom Burleson, TX
"This lure has worked great for me this year. I actually have several in different colors. The best fish producing color for me has been the Holographic shad (HS). When I fish with topwater lures I either use this skitter walk or the skitter pop. This lure is weighted well for extra long casts. I use the lure during the early morning just at sunrise or late in the day just at sunset. I am a bass fisherman and this lure has produced some large bass. The lure is designed to do a 'walk the dog' technique, which works very well, but I mainly use a stop and go method. I cast the lure and let it set for a second or two, then reel in about 3 feet, then stop, then twitch a bit, let it sit there for up to 10 seconds sometimes, then reel slow for about 3 or 4 feet, a twitch here and there, then let it sit. Repeat. This has been very productive in the evening. There is a saltwater version of this same lure. However, I have taken the freshwater version to the surf in Panama city FL and caught lots of ladyfish and spanish mackerel with no problems at all. Using the same techniques these fish hit the lure just as hard and often as the freshwater bass. The lure held up fine and showed no signs of rust or corrosion. I did make sure to rinse it in clean water after I used it in saltwater. This is a great lure and will always have a place in my tackle box. If I had to choose only 3 lures. They would all be Rapalas and would have to be the Skitterwalk, Skitterpop, and a DT series crankbait. I recommend this lure."

Rapala Freshwater Skitter Walk Review,November 21, 2006

"The Rapala Freshwater Skitter Walk's movements are unique and erratic in the water, and it drives bass crazy. The naturally heavy lure allows for long casts which puts the lure right in the strike zone as you reel it in."

Skitter walk for Smallies,October 12, 2006
By D1harrisonfrom Cottage Grove, MN
"The Skitter Walk in the sunfish pattern has been deadly for large smallies this fall. 4 1/2 and 6 lb. fish, in areas that are pounded by fishermen. Its weighting is excellent for casting into the gusty winds that seem to plentiful in the fall and the walk the dog action is pretty simple to perfect. This is a must have for anyone serious about pursuing bronzebacks."
