"I've had my Buck #119 for well over 20 years and it's the best knife I've ever owned. Have used mine gutting, skinning, and butchering deer as well as using it for an all around camp knife.
In my opinion this is the best all-around knife you can buy. Holds a blade pretty good but of course, can get dulled out skinning deer like other knives but it's easy to keep it sharpened. I particularly like the full tang since it keeps your hand from slipping down the blade during wet weather usage.
This knife comes with an excellent all-leather heavy duty sheath, that keeps the knife in its place until you need it.
The Buck Model #119 is the last word in really great all-around knives."

"I've carried and used this Buck Knife for years. It easily cuts thru rib cages, bone and very good to use in the field while dressing a deer or other game. The fixed blade is not too long while gutting an animal and quickly opens up the cavity right thru the rib cage. The sheath is hard leather, the blade cleans easily and I have yet to sharpen the blade. A great product from a great brand. Totally recommend."

"i own two of these knives because i bought one and the other was a gift i wont buy another one the handle is slippery when you get blood on it and by the time im done cleaning out my animal the blade is dull and when i started i could shave with it overall it's a decent blade for the price but not something for medium to heavy use."

"I couldn't help but notice the review below mine. This is the best knife ever made... it is not in fact an axe, log splitter, shovel, hammer, etc and therefore probably should not be used as such.
My family has three of these of different sizes and it does not get better than this. The quality is magnificant, the durablity is truly trusted and can take any beating (as long as its used properly). Sharpens quickly on a steel butchers rod, cuts smoothly for skinning, gutting or deboning. The shealth is the best I've ever seen. Will truly last forever for the next generation."

"This is a nice looking knife if you want something that looks pretty sitting on your work bench. I am hard on my knives and used them for game and camp work. With this knife, I attempted to process wood and with less than 20 baton strokes using a heavy log on the blade the handle snapped off. This thing is pure junk. Pass on this one friends."

"This is a the second Buck 119 that I have owned. First one left on tailgate fell off when drove off. This knife I use in every aspect of hunting. From field dressing to butchering. Boning, is easy and quick. I seem never to lose a good grip on the knife. Best I've ever owned."

"This was a Christmas present for my husband and he loves it! It's great for gutting a deer and skinning too. The handle does not get slippery with deer blood, it gets tacky, so you always have a good grip. Bucks are the best knives made. All the hunters in my family use them and love them!"

"I have had the Buck 119 Special for 15 years. The blade is still perfect and it holds an edge. The length of the blade is an asset because there is more cutting surface to stay sharp. The phenolic handle seems like it would be slick when wet, but blood makes the handle tacky during field dressing. I highly recommend this knife for any big game hunter."
