"I only had the case for one day when I was out teal hunting and my chocolate lab was a little excited for her first hunt of the year when I heard a splash. My gun, still in the case, had just been knocked overboard. I was able to turn the boat around and retrieve it with no problem. Had it not been in the floating case my gun would have been at the bottom of the lake. It was now worth every penny to have that case."

"I bought the same case two seasons ago. It works really well and I like it much better than the stuff bag type cases. The problem I had was a broken zipper after two seasons. I bought another one because it is still the best case for the way I hunt. If they replaced the zipper on it with something more substantial, it would be awesome."

"The only complaint that I have about this product is that I think there should be some more padding on the sides of the gun. I know you are putting a shotgun not a rifle into the bag but still I like some more padding. But does float not water proof but does float. We put a lead pipe inside to try it out, and sure enough it was floating in the pond!!!"

"I bought the case a few weeks ago and have only used it a few times but I really like it! Great deal and even has a side pouch for shot or other stuff. I had read complaints about the strap not having any padding on it but I am just adding some padding of my own if I think it needs it. Not a huge deal for me."

"I was happy with the first case so I bought another for my brother. They are light yet durable. They've been from the boat to the blind, all through the marsh and back. The carrying strap is great and the floating feature is a must. Several years ago, a friend dropped a $700 shotgun in the river and never found it."

"This is a fine gun case. I like the quality of the construction and the zipper for opening and closing the case (some come with all velcro). The storage pocket is well-conceived and does the job. My only complaint (and hence the 3 stars) is that the shoulder strap and carry straps are a pretty tough strip of nylon with no pad or cushion at all. It makes carrying the case any reasonable distance, by hand or shoulder, a bit uncomfortable."

"Although I like the case, and have had no problems with the construction, it is not waterproof. I works well with small amounts of water, but when you are in the rain for a while, water will soak through. I think with some sort of waterproof spray or coating, it will perform much better. I liked the case for field hunting for keeping my gun clean and protected."

"I felt that this case was a good buy for the money. The nicest feature is that it zips the full length and can, therefore, be opened all the way up to dry it after a wet hunt or after casing a wet or snow covered gun. I have not submerged the case with or without a gun in it (thank goodness), so I can't speak for the waterproofness of the zipper. I thought the padding provided by this case was average. It doesn't seem to be quite as thick or heavy as some other floating cases I have seen. At the same time, it seems to be adequate."

"Recent duck hunt to Arkansas...wanted a floating gun case in case it fell overboard. We were in flooded rice fields. If it had fallen overboard it probally would have been lost. It didn't fall in the drink. The Cabela's floating gun case gave me piece of mind that if my scattergun went over the side it would be an easy retrieve. Glad I bought it..."

"Great protection for your firearm, and looks great, I just wish that the zipper at the end would close 100%. There is a slight space (about 1/8 ") at the end that won't close all the way and if you were to drop it in the water, the gun would get wet, but hey the case floats so all you would have to do is just clean it a little more then normally. Nothing is perfect, but its close."
