"I purchased this jacket for my husband. We farm so he is outside in all kinds of weather. He has not had the opportunity to give the jacket the workout it deserves but this winter when it is snowing and blowing and he has to put out round bales of hay, I will be assured that he is warm!"

"This jacket is very well made; I would rate it on par with the Carhartt jacket that it closely resembles. Unfortunately, it was pretty uncomfortable--the hood seemed to pull down on my head as soon as I put it on, and after just a few minutes, it was obvious that I wouldn't be able to stand wearing the jacket with the hood up as my neck was being squashed. Maybe I have an unusually long neck or something...I don't know. The rest of the jacket fit perfectly--it was actually a little big on me, if anything, so I think that going to the next larger size or the tall version wouldn't solve the problem.
Interestingly, after I returned this jacket, I went into a store and tried on the Carhartt version--I had the exact same problem! I love the appearance of this style of jacket, but apparently I'm not meant to wear one.
Again, though, I can't say enough about the quality of the jacket itself. There's really no reason to buy a Carhartt jacket when this version costs a lot less. The problem I had was clearly not the fault of Cabela's manufacturing, but a flaw in the design itself."

"Have worn this for two winters. Yes, coat is bulky. Hood is bulky. This coat is made to keep you warm, not to make a fashion statement. Yes, hood is bulky when seated in a vehicle and hood is down between you and seat. But if your vehicle is cold in the morning or conditions are windy, it will break the wind and keep you warm. I have driven to work with heater left off wearing this in 30 degree weather."

"This is the warmest jacket I've owned! It's a little on the heavy side, but is well made. The Thinsulate insulation is extremely warm. I don't tolerate the cold well anymore( I live in Georgia for a reason), and with this jacket have no problem or hesitation on going outside."
