"I mounted the sendec unit on my Yamaha EF 2400i generator. At first the rpm 's were fluctuating more than i thought they should. After a bit of experimentation i discovered that if i wound the cable around the spark plug lead eight times instead of the recommended four the unit worked perfectly.I now dont have to try and remember how many hours i've done between oil changes.Excellent."

"Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Use and throw away product. The battery inside the hourmeter cannot be changed. This is not mentioned anywhere where this hourumeter is selled. I will use this product in -20 degrees C and this will shorten battery life."

"This little gadget is a great add on for any type of boater or fisherman with small boats. It is accurate in the rpm's - for duplicating trolling runs or making sure the outboard is operating in the proper WOT rpm's. "really simple to install on my johnson 10 4 stroke. great for hour intervals on the motor and the tach seems quite accurate. only drawbacks are that its really tiny and it could use some kind of cover. i hate leaving an lcd panel sitting out in the bright sun all the time. also wish the battery were user replacable though they say it will last a long time. 2 tiny mounting screws appear to be other than stainless, not the greatest for the back of a boat."

"I had no problems installing it on my 16.5 HP B & S single cylinder engine on my lawnmower. It took about 10 minutes which included searching for my roll of double sided tape to use rather than drilling holes in my mower. Small compact unit is not any larger than it has to be."

"The SenDEC hour meter/tachometer is pictured and written up as if it is an instrument you can use on a boat to track hours/engine RPMs. Based on the picture and write-up I expected a gauge that could be mounted in the dash to easily track hours and use as a tachometer. When I received the meter and opened the package it was so tiny you couldn't possibly read it without being very close to it. I think the picture and writing are misleading as to what the meter was and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone."
