"The unit works fine and the price was right. The only problem I had was the landyard connection (clip) to the sending unit is weak. The first time out in the field the hand held sender detached from the landyard. It was a miracle that I found it. I now keep it in my pocket."

"This is an absolutely wonderful product that has given our English Setter freedom to chase birds and run like the wind--like he was made to do. We have 11 acres and always had to have him on a lease before this product. Now, we daily put the collar on him and let him run. He usually comes to us with a verbal command and a hand clap but we occasionally do have to use the tone. He very rarely needs the electrical stimulation to obey. One suggestion we'd recommend is to purchase extra plugs to cover the charge receptacle. They are available from the manufacturer."

"I bought a cheap collar the first time and my golden retriever pretty much ran the roost with that thing on, I bought the Cabelas gun dog 5000 1 mile range and I ruled the roost!!! No more deer chasing and man does that dog listen to commands, well I had this unit for at least eight years and the collar did go bad, but innotek is sending me a new 5500 for a warranty charge of $70 dollars. I am very pleased with that kind of service It will keep me buying their products!!!

"I have had this collar for about 4 1/2 years (with limited amount of use). Recently, the collar was not taking a charge. I figured it was a simple fix because other collars the batteries are replacable. However, I called the manufacture and was suprised to find out I had to buy a brand new collar. The batteries on the collar are sealed and cannot be changed. Just so happens that the warrenty runs out after 3 years. So if you want to buy a expensive disposable collar, go right ahead. Spend the extra money and buy a collar that the batteries can be replaced on the collar and remote."

"The GS-5500 is a great shock collar. I use it on both my dogs, the nicest part is the ease of use. just a few buttons and its set up and all you have to do is push one button for stimulation or tone. The reciever is tough my dog's have had it completely submersed and no problem it just keeps working. The handheld transmitter is also tough id had it in some cold and snowy along with rainy conditions already and it just doesnt affect it if I had to do it over again I would have bought the same one."
