When German master boot maker Alfons Meindl finished this series of boots for us, he had one word to
describe it - "Perfekt™". In fact, they're built so well, they're recommended by the
American Podiatric Medical Association for their foot-friendly construction. At the heart of the series is
a layer of natural cork that not only protects your joints from shock, but molds to your foot for custom
support. Added to this is a Poron™ heel insert that resists compression for even more shock
absorption and a comfortable walking stride. A moisture-managing layer over the footbed draws
moisture away and transfers it to a dispersing layer, so your feet remain dry and comfortable. A
100% waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX® membrane keeps the sloppiest elements sealed
out. And the DIGAfix® lacing system snugs the boots around your instep and heel, eliminating
slippage without pinching or binding. A rugged polyurethane midsole adds an additional layer of
comfort, and the Multigrip® rubber outsole offers no-slip traction on loose terrain. The 10"
Nubuck Hunter is enhanced with lightweight 400-Gram Thinsulate™ Ultra insulation for added
warmth in cooler weather, and it sports full-grain nubuck leather for added durability. Made in
Germany. Height: 10". Average weight: 4.4 lbs./pair. Men's sizes: 8-13, D and EE widths. Half sizes to 12.

A great boot for the serious hunters,November 11, 2009
By vatrooperfrom Serious Va spring turkey hunter
"I liked the boots the firs time to put them on. I wore them for a couple of hours the first day. The next time I put them on, I wore them all day and did not want to take them off. I will buy another pair when and if I these give out."

Lots of foot support,November 3, 2009
By Joseppefrom South Central Alaska
"These boots have been on a rigorous goat and deer hunt, and they get better as they are more broken in. Need to get wet and dry a few times. I filled both boots with warm H20 and wore them until they were dry. They do take awhile to break in, so probably not great for the casual user. I initially had some pinching in the right foot, but that has resolved with more wear."

BMW of boots,October 12, 2009
By MikeRTfrom Ohio
"I own 1000g Pronghorns and was looking for something that didn't roast my feet in 40-50 weather. So, I drive to Cabelas to pick up Pronghorns in 400. The only boot in my size had some stitching frayed out so I went to the displays and saw the Perfekts. Asked for a size 10 D and EE. Soon as I put em on I was sold. My feet melt in these. 400g seems to be the sweet spot for fall to spring activity. If I find myself out in 0 degree weather the Pronghorns will probably come out, but I won't like taking these off. The design is excellent and very simple. Craftsmanship is superior to any of the other China boots I've seen and owned. The Perfekts are made in Germany. Another boon to these boots is if you wear the insides out spend a couple bucks for new cork inserts. I'm thrilled the boots I went in to buy were not available or I'd never have these. Buy em."

1# Boot!,September 25, 2009
By tcpete1968from spirit lake,ia
"I bought a pair of these boots after trying them on at the Owatonna store. I went on a last minute elk hunt and needed a pair of boots, which is the worst thing - you want to break them in right? NOT with these - I went for for a two week hunt and it they were "broke in" right out of the box! BUY THEM!"

Best in Alaska,September 15, 2009
By sparkyflafrom Tallahassee, FL
"After much research, I bought these boots for a drop camp hunting trip out of Kotzebue AK and they were worth the money. We crossed small streams and walked across miles of soggy terrain and my feet stayed dry. In fact out of the 5 in our group I was the only one who did not have wet boots at the end of the 5 day hunt including others who bought new boots (other top brands) for the trip. It rained steady for the last 2 1/2 days, so there was lots of water to walk through on the tundra areas. The only warning I can mention is that they are really stiff out of the box, but they do relax after a good breakin period. They are still a little stiff but that support was really nice when walking across lots of rocky terrain. My boots never did squeak like some reviewers mentioned, but I put some waterproofing conditioner on them anyway to keep the leather from absorbing water. They are also a little heavier than some of the other boots I looked at, but they did not feel heavy on my feet. The size was also accurate for me. If you are looking for a top end hunting boot that will stay dry and handle all types of really rough terrain then this is it."

Extremely Comfortable,September 14, 2009
By TexasOutfitterfrom South Texas
"I bought my Perfekt 10s this past Spring when I booked an October Elk hunt. They were one of several boots recommended by the Outfitter that I'll be hunting with. I did all of the research before deciding on this boot. Being in the hunting business in South Texas for nearly 25 years, I know what it's like to be on your feet all day for weeks and months at a time and the importance of good footwear, especially when you throw in a broken back from an old rodeo injury. It seems the older I get, the more important this becomes. As I do with all of my boots....hunting and cowboy boots....I wet them thoroughly the first time I put them on and then wore them until they were dry.....they form to your foot and are a perfect fit from then on. They were comfortable right out of the box and then just got more comfortable everytime I wear them. I wear them when I'm at my hunting operation working... filling feeders, working on the camp or whatever. They're so comfortable that I ordered a pair of the Perfekt Hikers to wear in warmer weather, which we have plenty of here in South Texas. I'm assuming they'll be just as comfortable as the Hunters. I would highly recommend these to anyone who spends a lot of time outdoors, especially if you have any foot, leg, or back problems. I can't see myself ever spending money on any other hunting boot!!"

love em, hate em,September 13, 2009
By NWWapitifrom Idaho
"My wife picked up a set of the women's Meidls last year and she really liked them. Since my old hunting boots pretty much disintegrated during the last weekend of elk season last year I thought I'd give these a try. I bought these boots about six months ago, and broke them in during some of our hikes up to high alpine lakes for flyfishing during the course of the summer. Since we're now a couple weeks into archery season I thought I'd offer the following: The highs: Traction is spectacular, possibly the best I've had in a hunting boot. Foot and ankle support is excellent, but at a cost in overall stiffness. The lows: Break in period: despite the salesman telling me how quickly these would break in, I'm still not convinced that they're broken in. Longest break in period ever. Have tried about six different kinds of socks with only slightly above average comfort at best. Incredibly stiff: for the first three hikes the uphill climbs felt like I was climbing in downhill ski boots, that's about how stiff they felt. Hot spots: no blisters yet (even after packing out an elk), but plenty of hot spots. I don't even remember the last time I had any hot spots in a hunting boot. Stuck with these for now, but don't think I'd buy another set."

Heres how you stop the squeak,July 17, 2009
By glennnotschfrom Phoenix, AZ
"Nikwax Aqueous wax! You can purchase it from Cabelas. My Perekts had that terrible squeaking for 3 weeks. Yesterday, after reading dozens of reviews here I took the advice of a couple people and put some Nikwax on the tongue area-followed the instructions to the letter on the bottle-and no more noise! Yes, just one treatment that took all of 5 minutes.
I really like the cork footbed, although it has taken nearly 3 weeks of walking 1-2 miles each day to get it broken in for my feet. The 10" height is a little more than I'm used to but have noticed that when laced to the top or even the second hooks from the top, my foot feels like it is locked in place, providing exceptional lateral stability.
Although it hot in Phoenix now, I am still walking in them each day and the 400 grams of thinsulate do cause sweating, but the lining inside does a great job of absorbing it. Once I'm in temps of 25 down to 0 I'll be really glad I got the 400 grams."

Great boots, Sole Separation,June 16, 2009
By Tennman708from Nashville , TN.
"I have had these boots for about 7 years. I noted that they were awesome right out of the box. The most comfortable boots I have ever had. I have worn them for seasonal hunting only. I started hiking recently with my backpack, getting ready for the fall high country elk hunt. On the last 1/2 mile, the sole "blew out". This appears to be separation of the inner foam cushion fronm the outer rubber sole. The uppers and inside of this boot is still in good shape, so I have sent them to a cobbler for repair,(lets hope) . I read reviews of the Canada boot from Meindle, and I see that they have had a lot of this as well. I hope the manufacturer is looking at this, and improves this part, they really are good boots but I am disappointed with the recent failure."

Great Boots,April 4, 2009
By muleyfeverfrom Ely, Nevada
"I have had my Perfekts for 3 years. I am pretty hard on my boots and have had good luck with the Perfekt. I wear these boots every day for about 6 months out of the year. I have used these boots for about every application, from work to back packing and sheep hunting.
They are extremely comfortable and warm. I really have no complaints with them. They are pretty much worn out at this point and I actually found another brand that I like better, but I would still recommend these boots for any type of cool to moderate cold weather hunting or work."

Perfekt 10s,March 30, 2009
By Baconrindfrom Sandpoint, ID
"I was really sold on the Alaskan Hikers and Alaskan Hunter models as I have hunted in them for the last two seasons. The last time I was at the Post Falls store, I hit the Bargain Cave in the back just to look around and ran into a set of the Perfekt 10s in my size and about 1/2 price so I figured why not. They sat in the closet for almost a month, but since I was working in the mud this weekend in my Alaskan Hikers, I wanted some clean boots for today. HOLY COW these are comfortable. With the 400 g Thinsulate, they're a bit warm for me right now, but I'm certain that I'll be really happy during hunting season! The tread appears to be very good and should clean out nicely. The lacing system is very well thought out and there are no pinch points. Since I have bad knees, I'm always on the lookout for high quality boots and I've found them!!!! They are a bit squeaky, but after a good coat of oil followed by some Obenhauf's LP, I bet they won't make a sound. I'm very pleased!!! Thank you Cabela's and Meindl!!!!!
Next on the list......the 7" model."

Best Boot i have ever owned!,March 9, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Gulliver, MI
"Cabela's "Perfect 10" Hunter Boots by Meindl. These ARE the perfect boot! I live in the U.P. of Michigan and we have some cold weather...but my feet stayed warm and dry ALL day. If your on your feet all day these are the boots to have, you cannot put a price on comfort! The lacing system is outstanding, well thought out. The Cork inserts are by far the best, and Iv'e even bought a pair for my IQ fit boots. For all you "squeekers" all leather has to be protected, that will take care of the problem."

Truely "Perfekt",January 27, 2009
By BRDnotDDRfrom Massachusetts
"Bought these boots not for hunting but for Winter wear in the frosty NE. After much research I was nervous that they might be to stiff for my application.
Much to my surprise they are warn, comfortable, and much lighter than expected. The 10 inch height takes some getting use to. The boot certainly isn't as stiff as I initially feared.
Squeaking isn't an issue if you wax the boots prior to use. No regrets so far and would buy them again. Meindl has a long history of making outstanding boots and these are no exception."

Decision Time,January 3, 2009
By 1Dmanfrom Nebraska
"If you are a big game hunter and you buy these boots you are going to have a problem. They are by far the most comforable boot I have ever put on. They are well made and seem to mold to your foot the first time you lace them up. As said before the only minus is the squaeking. The problem I spoke about earlier. Once you put them on you will want to find a way to stop the squaeking because they are so comfortable. Love the boots, hate the noise."
