Radio portion is week. Get a 2 watt.,October 19, 2009
By PaCabowmanhunterfrom Pa to Ca
"I have used this 110 gps for about 4 years on several hunts. The Gps is fairly easy to use once you study the manual and practice with it. I wouldnt recommend taking it on a hunting trip without having practiced with it for a while. One thing that can get you in trouble with this model is that it will let you mark a waypoint whether you are locked onto satellites or not. So you have to pay attention to the little pinhead size satellite emblem at the top screen and make sure its highlighted. And if you mark a waypoint without being locked on satellites it will mark it miles from where you are. Seems to me that it shouldnt let you mark a waypoint until you get satelites locked. That is a serious issue and has got me in trouble a few times when I try to return to the waypoint using the find'n go. Also the radio on this model transmits and receives a very week signal ( .5 watts ). I was using them on this last Colorado trip and couldnt even hear or transmit to guys less than a mile away. At the same time my friends were using the cheaper thirty dollar Motorola radios which worked just fine and at much further distances."

"Being an older hunter, I am not gadget oriented. That being said, I have rated the Garmin Rino 110 GPS/ Radio with five stars. Yes, it is that easy to use, and understand the instruction's. I also use two way radio's a lot in the field. The radio portion of the 110, work's better than my other 26 mile radio's. Thank you for offering this product."

"I haven't had time to use them in the field yet.I have just set them up and tried them to make sure that they do work and walked around the yard which is about 9.5 acres. They seemed to work fine doing that. When I get to use them while out and about I will add to this."

Great value,February 1, 2008
By reddog6080from Muskegon, Mi
"Excellent product for the money. Compares very favorably to a $450 unit purchased by my hunting partner. Compared GPS coordinates from computer satellite site with the readings from this unit and they match within 30 ft. Makes this a great scouting tool."

Garmin Rino 110 GPS,January 14, 2008
By Jeff143from Coxsackie New York
"While I'm sure this is a good product, those unfamilar with it will come up short when attempting to use it. Even with the purchase of the instructional video. You will come away scratching your head saying "What was he saying, push how many times on the joy stick, back twice down once ?" In fact I had to get someone well versed with GPS products and he still had to watch the video a couple of times and play with the unit for awhile before he became comfortable with it. However the unit is very reliable and does what it claims, once your well accustomed with all it's functions."

Garmin is the shisnit,September 10, 2007
By Kermit74from south milwaukee, WI
"I took this unit into the Clinetops mountains in colorado. There wasn't any place that i didn't get all 4 satalites eventually. If i was having trouble all i had to do is walk a little to were i saw open sky and within a couple minutes i was good to go. I would have probably liked the downloadable mapping of the more expensive Rhino's but for now this will work just fine. I was not able to use the two way, as i was the only one in the group with a GPS unit."

Great combo device,May 22, 2007
By mbailey256
"I bought this GPS so we could geocaching with the kids while camping. The only problem I've found is that the display is a bit difficult to read in unnature light, but was fine when used outside. The radio feature is great and worked well with our existing 2 way radio's. Looking forward to getting a second device so we can use the location transmission feature."

Garmin Rino 110,November 15, 2006
By Dennisawfrom Utah
"I've used this GPS/Radio for one year, it is great to use hunting if your hunting partners also have a Rino. This GPS is great for keeping track of others in your group, and with the radio you don't have to carry a radio and a GPS. Only thing I see negative about this product is that it is a bit big, but when you get a GPS and a radio in one it is well worth it."

GPS WORKS GREAT, RADIO NOT SO GREAT,November 14, 2006
By BOWHUNTERJEFFfrom Clearwater, MN
"I'm very happy with the GPS part of my Garmin Rhino. The radio part of this unit does not have much range. I used it on a large lake in Minnesota to see if it could go up to two miles as stated on the box. I got less then a mile of range on the lake. I tried using the radio in flat wooded areas and got about 2/10 of a mile of radio range. In wooded area with hills the range was less."

Wonderful GPS,November 2, 2006
By dbp24from Utah
"I have had this GPS for about a year and it gets me to and from anywhere I have been. I used it in Idaho this year and except for cutting out in heavy timber, it performed awesome. For a lower end GPS it is great."
