"Well here is the deal. I bought the Cabelas turkey fry kit for a friend as gift. He put it together to use for dinner one night. Unfortunately, the burner regulator did not work right. It was stuck at a lowest temp setting, he could not increase the burner!!
He tried three different tanks thinking it was something else, but of no avail. He has ordered the replacement parts, he did receive the part but has not had a chance to retry the cooker set.
So for now, I cannot give you any further feed back other than I am embarrased that part of the product failed. I actually drove from Youngstown to WV to purchase it and pick it up at a distribution center.
Hope that he has no other problems related to the kit.
I might recommend this product in the future, we'll see.

"Bought the aluminum pot to save a little money and it worked fine. Easy to clean and looks like I will get many years of use out of it. You can save money by buying each piece of your turkey kit separately and if you wanted to then you can splurge on some of the stainless steal items. Great product that can handle a large group for cooking."

"I had multiple reasons for purchasing this pot. Besides being able to use it for frying turkeys I needed a stainless steel (non-reactive) pot with a lid that could easily hold 5 gallons of milk for making cheese. This pot is going to work perfectly. I can also use it during gardening season for making sauerkraut and/or pickles. I may also use it for hot water canning. The pot is well made and I expect it will hold up well in spite of the extensive use it is going to get."

"The wife shot her first Tom this fall and we decided that Thanksgiving was perfect to try deep frying. The tall stainless turkey fryer was just the ticket. Wild birds are longer than domestic ones and we needed a tall pot for this 20+pounder. Instructions were clear and concise and everything went off without a hitch. Don't believe those clips on the internet, it's not that scary! Use some good common sense."

"THIS IS A GOOD BUY I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED IN THE LIGHT WEIGHT OF THE POT. IT IS LISTED AS 1.5 GAUGE ALUMINUM IF IT WAS A LITTLE HEAVIER GAUGE I BELIEVE IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER. "Excellent product. Extremely easy cleanup. I feel, along with being told that cooking in stainless steel is much safer than cooking within aluminum pots. If I were to list any downside, it would be that I wish the pots were constructed of slightly heavier guage steel, but current construction handled cooking just fine and did not affect overall quality of the items cooked. It was a pleasure ordering from Cabela's."

"Large sturdy pot, holds the heat and clean up is a breeze. We first purchased an alumimum pot but was told by a chef that we should not cook with alumimum. Our order arrived in 2 days and the kit has everything needed to fry a large (up to 18 pounds). We love our new turkey frying kit so much we fried 4 turkeys this holiday season."
