"This bag works well, overall very happy, first night I used the 0 degree bag, the temp fell to 8 degrees and bag did get cold, I should have bought the colder rated bag. I have never tried the mummy bags much, but didn't take long to get used to it, worked good, plenty of room."

"This was a last minute order (couldn't find my bag) and I didn't think the new bag would get there in time for the trip. But (yet again) Cabela's did not let me down and the trip was a go.
Athought the bag is rated for -20 temps, (the price was right) even if it was only in the low 40's where I was camping "mummy" kept me warm and dry, not to hot, not to cold, just right... ha-ha
All kidding a side the Trekker mummy sleeping bag with an air mat under me worked awesome, can't wait to try it when it gets really cold! It was a nice weekend under the stars."

"So we decided that we would do a night of winter camping. We did this once before and I remember waking up with numb feet because I used my 35F bag, figured it would be good enough last time, and it only got to 19F that night. Well this time around I knew it was going to be colder, it was 20+mph wind with -5F not including windchill. I knew I needed a better bag than last time so I went to the Cabela's store to find a bag that would keep me from becoming hypothermic and that was affordable for a weekend warrior. This bag fit the bill, I went with the -20F bag considering it would be better at preventing my demise in the cold weather than the 0F bag. We did our usual hang out by the campfire and consumed some beverages which were slushy with ice then I proceeded to bed. I crawled into my tent to find that my water bottle was completely frozen and in order for me to drink this water in the morning I would have to put it in my bag for the night. So I went to bed in my PolyPro layer curled up with a bottle of ice and I slept comfortably through the night with toasty warm feet in the morning. The outside of the bag and inside of my tent were completely covered with frost from my breath freezing, yet I remained toasty in my bag. This was a good buy. Although it was a bit bulky in the compression sack of my pack, I can sacrifice some space as now I can carry less clothing for sleeping. I purchased the regular size bag and it fit me perfectly at 5'10" 175lb. Anyone larger than this I would suggest the upgrade to a large."

"My son and I used the trekker -20 mummy sleeping bag for winter camping (no tent) during the '08 Michigan gun deer season opening weekend, Nov.14 &15 in the UP. We both stayed warm throughout the night. The only thing keeping this bag from a 5 star rating was the bag's draw string closure for the head. I couldn't get a good, comfortable closure around my face."

"I was very pleased with the conduct of the sleeping bag. It was immediately pressed into service for a pioneer trek. We didn't have any tents and on the first night, it rained and hailed. I slept warm and dry and in the morning, simply shook off the moisture. After this tour of duty, it was reassigned to Boy Scout camp where it survived the punishment of a 12 year old boy for a week. It looks fresh as a daisy and ready to tackle a Girl Scout camp next week. I especially like how it rolls up and easily fits into its stuff sack. I'm very satisfied with this bag."

"to start things off, i would like to thank an unsatisfied customer that returned this bag to the dundee store. i opened the box that was in the bargain cave marked "used" and inspected it for damage. i found nothing wrong with it and got it for less than half price. the model i got was the mummy bag in -20 temperature rating and the large size. for what i do, this bag is nearly perfect. i do not need a super light bag to backpack with, so the weight of the bag is fine. i put it to the test in about 45 degree weather and i was very warm the whole night. i havent done any below freezing camping...yet, so at least for me it keeps very warm. an internal draw string is also nice to seal the bag and prevent a cold draft from getting into the bag. if you are over 6 feet tall, get the large size. im 6 foot 3 and about 180lbs and have plenty of room inside this bag. for what my needs are, i couldnt ask for a better bag."

"Trekker Mummy bags were rated to zero but I used them over the past two days when the temperature was @ 25 degrees and I got very cold. My son also experienced the same problem. We were in a tent at the time and not under extremely windy conditins. I was very disappointed with the bags. The tent I purchsed from Cabellos was very good as was the pack and New Balance hiking shoes."

"This is not a high tech bag but is a very nice one for the price.I would not recommend this bag for backpacking because of its weight and bulk.This bag is more suitable for horsepacking or any drive to camp.It seems to be very durable and would probably hold up well for rugged use."

"I was looking for a bag that was relatively inexpensive but could take a beating and stand up to the cold. I found it in the Trekker Large Mummy Bag. I am 6'3" and 220 lbs., and even though the specs said I would fit I was reluctant to purchase the regular size bag (I've been burned before). I purchased the large mummy with the zero degree temperature rating and I couldn't be happier. It is quite roomy, even at my size. There is room down by my feet to store clothes for the following morning, and even enough room to put those clothes on without experiencing the dawn chill. I haven't yet tested it at zero degrees, but I have been in it with temperatures below freezing and a moderate windchill, and remained toasty through the night. The only "downsides" to this bag are compression size and weight. The compression size is easily remedied with a good compression stuff sack, and as for the weight, I would rather carry a little extra (both in the bag and in my wallet) than be cold and miserable. Again, couldn't be happier."

"My most recent purchases were for two additonal Trekker mummy sleeping bags. I bought these for my son and his girlfirend. I used the first bag that I bought in Alaska on a sheep hunt. A little bulky for back packing but certainly the right gear for a base camp with below freezing nights in a tent. Bag was warm and comfortable. The long bag was certainly big enough for my 6'4" frame. The Trekker bag was economical enough that I left it in Alaska with the outfitter so I would have one on a return hunt. That decision was cheaper than paying the extra luggage expense of getting it back to Dallas. Excellent bag! I've bought three and would highly recommend."
