"I bought this bag a few months ago during warm weather. I put it to use last weekend in cold weather. It is soft, cozy and warm. I got the XL size to have lots of turning room in it. It is a good one.

"I bought this bag based on the reviews and a chat session with a Cabela’s customer service rep. I used this bag during the second season Elk hunt in Colorado during mid October 2009. After 9 nights in this bag, I was not disappointed.
We camped at over 8000’, the weather wasn't that bad and the night time temps were between the high 20’s to low 30’s. I did sleep in my long johns and we had a Coleman white gas catalytic heater that ran all night in our tent. But this bag kept me warm and comfortable and I would recommend it to others.
I bought the -20 degree large bag for the warmth and so I would have the extra room to store my shirt and pants in while sleeping. This allowed me to have something warm to put on first thing in the morning.
The zipper did catch in the material one night, but I think that was more me than the zipper itself. We had a long day of hunting, a big dinner and I took my time before crawling into the bag and I worked up a bit of a chill on one of the colder nights. I zipped the bag up quickly, perhaps too quickly and it got stuck. I eventually freed it, but it took a few minutes and I had to dig out the flash light next to my cot to see what I was doing. As long as I used the zipper at a reasonable speed, I had no other problems with it.
Down side – The bag isn’t easy to roll back up, and it is too big and heavy for backpacking. But no problem for car camping.
The only real problem with this bag was waking up on O’dark 30 to go hunting the next morning. Crawling out of a warm bag into a cold tent to get dressed is not much fun.
The only other issue that I can think of is that I like to have cold air around my head while keeping my body warm. So this bag was great for me. But if you want to keep your head warm too, I might suggest the mummy style/rectangular bag that Cabela’s sells instead."

"While we (my wife and I) use our extra large -20 below zero Cabela's Pine Ridge Classic sleeping bag for camping, its primary use is as a comforter on our bed. I like to keep the temperature down really low at night in the winter. Without a doubt, I’m a function before form guy, but try this classic bag as a comforter on your bed on a cold night, and I think you’ll agree there is no substitute. And, yes, my wife thinks it looks nice, too."

"I camp in coastal Calif where temps are mild and I hope I never have to test it down to 0 degrees but it certainly worked well for me in the 40's with plenty of warmth to spare. Well made bag. Excellent quality and price."

"I bought this for early fall camping. One of the reviews I read before I bought it talked about clothes hanging up on the flannel lining. That was my experience with sweatpants and a T shirt. When I rolled over so did the bag. I have since found that because the bag can be unzippped completely it makes a great comforter for my spare bed at home."
