Senses ambient light from behind and automatically dims
Digital compass is self-calibrating
Temperature indicator displays in Farenheit or Celsius
The Auto-Dimming feature senses ambient light and glare from behind and instantly dulls it for
optimum night-driving safety, control and comfort. A self-calibrating, digital-compass display aids in
navigation. And a temperature indicator, with Fahrenheit and Celsius conversion options, lets you know
exactly how many layers you'll need when you reach your final destination. It fits most vehicles.

Disappointing Design,July 13, 2009
By MontanaAl
"I am and will always be a loyal customer of Cabelas. Having said that, I had huge problems with these CIPA mirrors on a 2005 Silverado 2500 HD. There are not one, but two serious plastic molding design errors. I had noticed initially that the factory had rasped at the outboard side of both screw holes on the interior wedge pieces. That was done because the molding on the mirror itself ran clear out to the reinforced threaded hole on the mirro, making the wedge stand off from the inside of the mirror back by 3/32 of an inch. And the hole in the wedge piece did not line up with the threaded hole in the mirror by about 1/8 inch, even when everything was flexed into place. But after lengthening the slot on the outboard end of the both wedges, and cutting out the top of the Vee leading to the threaded hole (if you do it, leave plenty at the edge of the threaded hole), applying silicone spray, and massive muscle, the mirrors do now go on. I am sure they will be tight and not vibrate. I would definitely not recommend to a friend unless he was an accomplished engineer or was in town where I could help him."

"the miror works well. Didn't take long to install. Just one problem with the directions (does not note the different location of the fuse box) Dimming function works great. Took a while to get the compass set"

Love it!,January 30, 2008

"I absolutely love this compass/thermometer mirror. The fortunate part was we had the wires run through the headliner and side of the windshield when we had my cracked windshield replaced. The glass company was happy to run the wires for us and stubbed the sensor wire up in the engine for us to run. My husband did spend a full day trying to find where to wire it to though. He finally found power in one of the computer/cell phone charge outlets on the dash. Make sure you use power that turns off when the key is turned off. The thermometer is very accurate too. Highly recommend it !"

No complaints,March 26, 2007

"The only thing that I was concerned with was how accurate the ambient temperature sensor would be but judging by random banks and other business temperature signs it seems to be right in the ball park. I installed it myself in about an hour on a Saturday and the only tools I needed was a razor blade and a flat blade screwdriver."
