Assembled wrong,

"The unit I purchased was assembled wrong. I'm not the brightest star in the sky so it took me awhile to figure why it didn't work like the one I saw on someone else's truck. Luckily I didn't start drilling holes in my tailgate until it was assembled correctly. Another thing that needs to be made clear is that it doesn't install with bedliner on the tailgate. You have to cut it completely out so the unit attaches to the steel. Other than that, it's very handy."

Not for the northeast!,

"I installed mine in August and liked it for a while. Here in the northeast with all the salt they put on the roads the step became useless by February. The corrosion made it unworkable. The screws were inadequate and it did not sit flat inside the tailgate. Great idea, needs lots of improvements."

"This is a excellent little device and it has certainly been put to good use since I've added it to my truck. That extra step up makes it a little easier whether you are 50 or 24. The only thing that you may need to do (which I did) is get longer screws if you have a bedliner and tailgate cover. Other than that, its a real knee saver."

"I have to get in and out of the back of my F250 4X4 quite a bit. I installed the fold up step and it really helps. If it would have been 2 inches longer it would be perfect."

Works, but it's thick,

"The step is built well and holds my 200 plus pounds. The only issue I have is that it doesn't fit well under my tonneau cover when I close the tail gate. But for now I'm leaving the step on even thouh the rear brace on the tonneau bulges when the tailgate is closed."

"Great product & easy instalation. Only improvement would be to make it adjustable for amount of drop. I use it on a F350 which still makes for a high step. Prefect for lower pickups."

"If you have a pick-up truck with a fold-down tail-gate, you need this product! It seems that trucks get taller every year and that also my legs must get shorter as well. By drilling five small holes, you can make your truck much easier and safter to get into and out of the bed.
The step completely folds out of the way when not in use, and I have even found it to be helpful in using when securing something in the bed. My only complaint about the product is that the enclosed attachment screws are junk, throw them away and spend a buck at the hardware store for some good stainless steel screws. with thicker being the recommendation.

"Like other reviewers have said, on 2006 F150 tailgate they are not able to fold agains the inside of the gate with gate closed. Also the attachement screws are pretty wimpy and require drilling holes. I'm ok with the drilling holes if I'm istalling something permanent, but I'm not convinced that these screws will not pull out. My fold up step remains in my garage."

"This step does a pretty good job, but, they need to make a longer one for 3/4 and 1 ton 4X4 pickups. I am 65 years old and I still have to give a running jump to use this step in my F-350 4X4. The step is easy to mount with clear instructions, but the length they make is ideal for 1/2 ton pick-up trucks only."

"Unfortunitely this did not fit my F-150 tail gate.Iit would not lay flat when the tailgate was closed and the step was folded in, and would not swivel all the way down when the tailgate was open, I would have returned it but I scratched it upon instulation. This product may not fit trucks with a bed/tailgate liner, but that waas not mentioned in the product description."

"While this seems like a great idea, it is not practical for our larger pickup (Dodge 2500) - the step is pretty high off the ground even with the tailgate down. I would say if one had one of the smaller pickups, it might be great."
