Ranger Rails,

By sparkyaber

"These are the exact same rails used by Ranger boats. I had to call the manufacture of these rails for a question, (that is why I know they are used on Rangers) and had great customer service. If you are thinking of buying these, don't wait, you will not be disappointed. They are very high quality."

"I purchased them to dress up the boat, yes even us fisherman have some pride in our vessels, and I found that they have a practical use as well. Pulling boat over a little when trailering after fishing, clamp on fishing pole holders and other items, and a good place to tie fenders off to. Easy to install and to bend slightly to fit the curve of my boat. I think it makes my vessel go faster as well. Highly recommend these for any vessel. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for."

Hand rail for boat,
December 15, 2008
By Steve5355
from elk grove, california

"I recently purchased a small handrail to mount on my boat and my experience with Cabelas was almost perfect. The piece arrived very quickly and was exactly what I was looking for at a fair price. My only complaint was the packaging. This handrail is about 10 inches long. It was first packed in a box about two feet long. That box was then packed into an even larger box with a lot of packing material. All of this was unecessary and excessive. I think Cabelas should review its packing policies."

Quality and Good Looks,
February 27, 2008
By Captain82

"I originally had the 60" Ranger Style Rails installed at the boat dealer I purchased my new boat at in 2007. He recommended them, and I was very pleased with the look and quality of the product. I was so pleased with them that I decided to purchase additional 12" rails to be used as hand rails on the bow of my boat. Installation is simple and hardware and instructions come with the rails. The best feature these rails offer is the ability to attach pole holders, cup holders, etc. to the rail instead of drilling holes into your boat. I've already installed four pole holders to the 60" rails and they work and look great. I would recommend these items to anyone looking for functional and good looking hand or docking rails."

60" ranger rails,
May 1, 2007
By Anonymous
from wisconsin
|
"The rails are nice and sturdy. It would have been nice if they were a bit taller, say an inch. Also beware that the round mounting points are NOT beveled so if you intend to mount these rails on a slightly rounded surface you will have raised edges. I made and used foam washers to make up for this."

Railing Installed,
April 17, 2007
By ILCowboy
from Illinois
|
"The rails are great looking and made very well. The only problem is I did not see any instructions on how to properly install. The installation has to be done properly or you will cause damage to your boat when you install the screws. The main thing to remember is to drill the holes with a bit size that is within a 1/32 size of the screws you are using (which come with the railing). Other wise you will break the gel coat around the screws when you tighten them down. Another thing that will help reduce breakage is to lube the screws as you install them with a light lubricate. The rails are straight and if you wish to have them follow the curve of your boat, you should position the center two railing mounts first and then press the end railing mounts in or out to follow the shape of your boats gunwell. These helpful hints may help a first time installer. Cowboy,"
