"Made a live bait well using a 100 quart ice chest and the power bubbles, to use on SF bay. Lost a lot of bait the first time out. Hadn't accounted for the concussion effect from the waves pitching the boat. I added baffles to the ice chest for the second trip and had less than 5% dead loss. We were out for 6 hours and never changed the water. Great product!!!!!!!!!!!"

Shad and alewifes,
July 13, 2009
By DaveES

"I rigged this in conjunction with the pump that is in my Super Bait Tank ll shad tank and a timer switch. With a T connector I made the dual outlet air lines into a single air line and ran this into the out flow line of the pump in the tank. A hole is made in the line going from the pump back into the tank and the single line coming from the air pump must be cut at an angle and placed into the hole made in the outflow line from the bait tank pump. The angled cut in the airline must face with the water flow and the check valve must be in place. This has increased my ability to keep my bait alive, fresh and very lively for days at a time out on the lake. I also have two others as back up and for moving minnows around. This is a fantastic aerator. Well worth the price. Been running the one in the shad tank for 3 years now."

"Bought Power Bubbles for my son, he installed it on his Marinette with a direct hookup and a switch above deck. All we have to do is flip the switch and we have instant air for our live bait. Sure beats the battery type. It is quiet, and has proven out very well."

A Very Good Product...However,
June 30, 2009
By lobsterman

"Power Bubbles product does everything it was advertised to do. It aeriated and provided oxygen for both my livewells, and kept most of the live bait in good to fair condition. However, foam and other surface contaminants consistent with poor filtration and water circulation (not directly relative to power bubbles) contributed to bait losses that could have been prevented. This product operated in conjunction with a 12 volt DC filtering system, and a 12 volt low flow water recirculator pump would be a five star product. A retrofit kit featuring these items would sell like hotcakes. GET ON IT CABELA."

ower Bubbles,

"Very dependable. I use them in a local commercial fishery, in which I must keep my fish alive and fresh for the market. They are simple to use with 12-volt hook-up. Several of them provide a backup aeration system that has, more than once, prevented losses that would cost thousands of dollars. My older ones just keep on running. They are versatile for all kinds of livewell configurations and applications, and their use may be changed in seconds. Only recommendation would be to use heftier electric connection clips and wiring to resist salt water exposure."

"So far so good . Hooked up to 4ah battery and let run for 12 hours plus. Must have low current draw as battery was still strong. Will accomplish what I needed it for . An air supply for minnows on long trips or overnight trips."

"excellent air pump, tons of air...this unit puts out twice the air of the 110 volt ac unit with a 125 gallon tank rating... i had purchased the 110 at the pet store for nearly 40.00 and was using it with a 110ac to 12vdc inverter in my boat because i was unable to find a decent 12v dc pump ..until now this one works great....and the stones have biult in wieghts nice!!"

POWER BUBBLES BLOWS BUBBLES!!,
March 9, 2009
By Lakeraider
from Ohio
|
"This is the second Power Bubbles I own...still have the first one, but as it is getting older, I ordered a new backup unit...
It does everything I need it to do! It drives two air stones in my large 5 gallon minnow bucket in which I can keep well over 200 perch minnows alive and healthy all day with only an ocassional water change...in fact, we often leave only one air stone in the bait bucket and use the other to oxygenate a smaller bucket from which we draw minnows as we use them.
With both air stones placed into my live well, I have kept as many as 10 walleyes alive for an extended period of time in cool water.
I use it to transport minnows in back of my truck from stream, to home, to boat, to fishing and have never lost bait. I highly recommend this unit. Best $$ a live bait fisherman can spend! That's why I bought a second one!
This summer I plan on using both units at same time and maintaining larger bait for striper fishing.
You will not be disappointed by this pump!"

Great for keeping live shrimp,
December 26, 2008
By Leemar
from Greenville,SC < freshwater and saltwater fishing>
|
"On a recent trip to the SC coast , we were trying to keep shrimp alive in a bait tank with a strong aerator flow. The aerator made the water run too hard and was very hard on the bait. We turned bait tank aerator off and started using the Power Bubbles unit. It was fantastic and did the job. Love the minimal voltage useage and the weighted ends of the plastic air tubing. The shrimp were much happier and stayed alive for several days . Great product which works super and is easy to use."

Power Bubbles,
June 16, 2008
By fishkeg
from NWO, Canada
|
"I was very pleased with how well the unit worked. I wired it to a switch and with the low amp draw (.25A), there was no need for a relay. I just put an inline fuse between the pump and the switch to protect the pump. I used both air stones in my livewell but one would have been sufficient, the fish stayed very lively. I even left the air pump running while trailering back home from the lake, the fish stayed alive the whole trip.
You can run the pump all day as it uses almost nothing for power, just change the water every hour and your fish will last all day. Great for live release tournaments."

good travel bubbles,

By RobBert

"Sets up easy, I installed it to run 2 live wells, it produces plenty of bubbles to the closest one, but less to the further well. I should have installed it between the wells to even out the pressure, too much line drop to the front tank, my fault. Keeps bait and fish alive durring road trip. Great product."

Not very satisfied with Cabelas,
May 7, 2007
By cmuck
from Crystal River, Florida
|
"The product is great! I should have gotten it years ago. Cabelas unfortunately did not check or look at the product prior to shipping as there was a stone missing from the package. If I would have complained at the time I received the order which was 2 days late, no telling how long it would have taken to get the part. So I went out and bought the part and all is working great."
