George Hickox will show you how it's done.,August 24, 2009

"As someone planning to train my own dog this video series is very good research, but I hesitate to say that it is all that you need. There are some things involved in the training that aren't explained. I wonder if there is a book that compliments this video and shows you how to build or make some of the training aids he uses. He explains what one of the aids is, but doesn't go into great detail on how to make it.
His technique is sound and his ability is evident, but how does that translate to a novice with limited resources?"

Good, but -,August 10, 2009

"The DVD appears to be ok, however I did not feel that it went in depth enough about the basics of training a gun dog. I have a good handle on the basic commands, but could have used some background information on the terminology used in the video and some extensive demonstrations. For example: this is called "quartering" and this is why we want the dog to do it, followed by demonstration, or whatever the case may be, you get the idea. This is a very basic video and will leave you with more questions than answers unless you already know exactly what you want your dog to do, in which case I would think you wouldn't need the video in the first place."

Not bad, clear and to the point,January 22, 2008

"I borrowed this DVD from a friend. I found it pretty good. George really has a knack for explaining his methods very clearly. This is a step by step program and will help the upland lab hunter for sure. From intro to birds-gunfire-ecollar. The only aspect I'm unsure about is his method with the ecollar. Its a different method than what I used on my lab (Mike Lardy) BUT i am sure it is a great method (using "show pups"). I would definitly check this DVD out if you are considering using the ecollar. I happened to use Mike Lardy's DVD but I feel George has a great method as well."

George is Top Notch,December 19, 2007

"This is the best training DVD that I have found for the Upland (Flushing) hunting dog and believe me I have them all. George does a great job of separating the yard work from the field work and carefully explains each step of his system. After watching his DVD at least 20 times I bought his book called "Hunt em up""
