Teiton II Hiker, October 18, 2009
    By Blastus from Longview, Washington

"This boot is waterproof! The boot has a thick sole, can't feel rocks under your feet, great for long hikes. During early archery hiked approximately 150 miles on logging roads. My feet didn't get to hot or cold in temps from the 80's to the 20's. The negatives. The boot could be taller, in wet weather use rain pants that extend to the heel. My boots have a little squeak to them but not always, lacing is not real user friendly but how many times do you lace a boot up in a day?"

    The Best I've Owned, September 21, 2009
    By 870Rem from Iowa

"I am currently on my 3rd pair and will buy again soon. I have hiked the grand canyon, rockies, tetons, canyonlands and all over hunting. They stick to all rock and have great ankle support. Only complaint would be there a bit stiff and when stalking make more noise than other boots I've owned."

Superior quality boot, September 9, 2009
    By steensraven from SE Oregon

"If you a European-style hiking boot, you might just love these. The European boots are the only ones that fit my feet. Before I bought these I always wore Raichle. The Meindl's are possibly even better. High priced but worth every penny if you are a serious hiker, hunter, or other long-hike recreationist.

I do not recommend kicking steps with them. I severely scarred the toe box on my old pair. No structural damage though. I might put shoe goo or something like that over the toe box to protect the leather in that area.

    Highly Recommend, July 11, 2009
    By jeffmc from Powell Wy

"Nobody is harder to fit, or is as finicky when it comes to boot then me. Just ask my wife. These boots right out of the box were perfect. I have put just about 15 hours in them. No break in necessary. No hots spots and no blisters. I look forward to using them on an elk hunt this fall. Make sure you buy at least one size smaller then you normally wear. I chose not to take the advice of others and ended up returning my first pair for a size that fits."

    fantastic boots, June 21, 2009
By sierraoutdoors from Sothern Sierra Nevadas

"I purchased these boots 2 1/2 years ago strictly to replace my worn out hiking boots. Their sizing seems to be 1/2 to a full size larger than other boots/shoes I've worn. Other than that AWESOME!!! They required very little break in and were so comfortable, they became my daily work boots. I'm pretty hard on shoes being a gen. contractor, and these boots are still going strong. Hiking, fishing, working, even all day shopping with the wife and kids --these boots do it all!! They are the most comfortable footwear I have owned!! WATER PROOF for sure. Other than 2x I have had to be in water up to my knees with them on. They dry out fast and are unaffected by being fully soaked. Once for a full hour. The leather the uppers are made of is unbelievably durable. I am going to buy either another pair of Tetons IIs or the Alaskans for dedicated hunting/ hiking duty. I know they will last for years!! GREAT BOOTS!!!!!!!!"

Not the most comfortable boot I ever had, May 21, 2009
By coloradoforester from Front Range of Colorado

"The Teton II has taken longer to get used to or break in than the other Meindl boots I have had. Hopefully, because they are stiffer, the internal waterproof membrane will last longer before it rips and leaks.

Have not been in wet conditions with these boots yet.

The lacing system may work on larger sizes, but on a size 7 the hooks are just too close together. Seems like they could leave out one set of hooks on smaller size.

I always use 3rd party insoles to get a proper fit and arch support. Perhaps the combination isn't perfect. I have tweaked the insole to improve support and comfort. More may be in order.

At the end of the day I'm glad to get them off.

    great boots, May 5, 2009
    By Kabot

"I bought these boots to try something different and Meindl has a great name in hiking boots in Europe. I received them one day before our European vacation. I had no time to break them in, but to my surprise these boots didn't need any 'break-in' time. These boots fit well, wore well, and didn't put a single blister on my feet from step one! They are sturdy, rugged, and relatively light for their composition. I have had them for only one month, so I can't speak for the longevity of the boot yet, but if they last as long as how well they have performed so far, I think I will have these boots for some years. Good traction, great support, and they fit very well. I would recommend these boots to other avid hikers."

Great boots so far....., February 9, 2009
    By IDPartridge

"My wife is on her eighth year with her pair (same model) and they are still going strong so I couldn't resist. I've owned these boots for under a month and have put over thirty miles on them. They take some breaking in, but in my opinion, a good tough boot should. Despite the break in period I took a five mile hike in them on the first weekend to give them a proper test before I treated the leather. They hurt some but after a few short hikes they've been a pleasure. The leather has softened after treating with some conditioner and after an eight miler this weekend I'm convinced they are the best boot's I've ever owned. One major recommendation would be to purchase these boots at the store where you can try them on. As others have mentioned, they run smaller than other manufacturers. I inquired with the salesman in the shoe department and he told me the opposite, suggesting the boots run true to size. After trying on four pairs, I settled on one full size smaller (11.5 = 10.5 Meindl) and am very pleased with my decision. A high quality boot for serious hiking conditions. Great ankle support and very good arch support. I have flat, wide feet, however, my wife has thin well arched feet. So again, fitting them at the store might be beneficial. Hopefully I'll be able to refine my critique after next backpacking/upland season."

    Meindl 10", September 30, 2008
    By TennesseePete from Memphis, TN

"I wore these boots right out of the box on a 10-day moose hunt in the Yukon. I have backpacked in rough country for 30 years, but never in 10" boots. These boots NEVER leaked the whole trip, despite wading in rivers, creeks, all-day rains and 8" of new snow just about every day. My feet stayed warm and no blisters or other discomfort. I treated them before I left with waterproofing and didn't have a chance to re-treat during the trip - still bone dry on the inside the whole time. Unbelievable boots and not very heavy, considering the height. Great lacing system for adjusting fit for uphill vs downhill. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than normal and fit was perfect."

    solid boots, September 23, 2008
    By ghostbuck from Sanpete,Utah

"These Meindl tetonII boots are very well built. They are of rigid nature which takes alittle x-tra break in time. However at the end of the day your feet have been fully protected & supported. The sizing is a little large which is nice for a change.
Just plan for a size smaller. My next pair will be Meindl boots.

Perfect Right Out of the Box!, August 26, 2008
    By TrailNut from Onalaska, WI

"I bought these boots in May 2007, but didn't use them for the first time until today (8-26-08) as I wanted to squeeze out every last mile of my old pair of heavy-duty hikers before placing these into service. Anyway, these boots performed admirably right out of the box on an 8.83 hike over some rugged trails, with lots of ascents, descents and imbedded rocks and roots on the mountain bilke trail system I was on. These brand-new boots were a a little stiff at the very top nly for the first 200 yards or so, but they quickly began to feel almost like my 4-year old pair that had who knows how many miles on them! By the end of this hike, there was not one sore spot on either my feet from the tip of the toes to the tops of the boots. They gave me good support on this rock and an assured feeling as I negotiated all the trail obstacles and grades. I always line my hiking boots with one or two insoles for some added cushion and comfort. With this pair, I am using a thin pair of gel inserts, with Sof Sole insoles on top of them. These help make the boot a little more snug, too, if you like to buy your boots on the roomy size. I am quite pleased with these boots, and given today's initial performance, expect a lot of comfortable hiking out of them."

Best Boots Ever!, June 26, 2008
    By desertbigcat from Sedona, AZ

"I live in Arizona and hike and hunt the most rocky, vertical, steep country anyone can compare. These boots handle it all in great comfort. I am on my third pair over the last 12 years. Actually, the first pair were not the II model. When I first purchase a pair of these boots, they are so beautiful that I just were them out-and-around casually until I must take them hunting. I don't see them in the catalog very often but they should be. The Perfect Hiker is not even close to the Teton when it comes to comfort, durability and quality. After the Tetons get some milage on them, they become the most quiet and stealthy boots a bowhunter could wear when stalking elk and deer. The Teton is uninsulated and if you really hunt big country, you don't want insulated boots that make your feet sweat. I have had mine on icey, cold Colorado hunts and they are just fine. If all you are planning to do is just stand hunt then maybe you need insulated boots. However, the Teton keeps your feet dry and controls the tempurature quite well. I do wear two pair of socks when hunting rough country -- a wool/synthetic and a thin silky sock over that one. I would do that with any pair of boots when in steep, rocky country. I have said enough now about them except that I hope a Cabela's executive reads this and then considers promoting them more than they are doing now."

    Too Wide, June 3, 2008
    By ArkieBowHunter from Northwest Arkansas

"I normally wear a size 12B and I ordered my Teton II's in a 11 1/2 and they were still too big. I should have ordered a size 11. I have to wear heavy socks to make up for the extra room. The boots are very supportive and are very high quality. They are definately not a light duty boot. Just make sure you order at least a half size smaller. Theses would probably be a good boot for poeple with wide feet."
