Great Training Whistle,

"I recently purchased this whistle as I have a Retriever in training. The whistle is loud with very little effort and the design helps in ear fatigue. I would recommend this item to anyone training a dog or having one trained. It could save you frustration on a windy day when your voice will not carry far enough."

"Who doesn't use these whistles for training "water dogs"... Let me help these guys rating this whistle low... The "orange tips" are good for shorter marks. Over 250 yards buy the "clear tip"... Unless you have real good lungs!

"I would recommend this whistle to any trainer or hunter out there. If you hunt and are in the field a lot then you need this whistle. I have yet to have a problem with my dog hearing this whistle whether there is a 30 mph wind in my face my lab still hears it. Great Product."

Not as loud as I expected,

"This whistle is significantly, but not overwelmingly louder than the standard Roy Gonia Whistle. You have to make this judgement by standing in front of the whistle as it is blown by someone else, because a very nice feature is that it projects the sound away from the person blowing it. Thus, the preceived loudness is less than the actual loudness when blowing it. However, my dogs seem to respond well to it at long distances and thus far it seems to be loud enough even if it is not the mega-blaster I was expecting."

"If your dog can't hear these whistles...maybe you should think about retiring him. These things are LOUD. But if your Lab is splashing around on a 100 yard blind retreive, you want loud. Only drawback is their size. They are big. Get a lanyard because they won't fit in your pocket."

"Loud and very expressive. Can tweat ever so lightly when upland bird hunting to sharp punctuative hard whistles while handling your dog on blinds out several hundred yards.
Am replacing my first purchase due to loss of mega whistle while hunting in heavy timber. Snap ring worked its way right off the lanyard clasp. This happened more than once, luckily I found the whistle the first few times. Shame on me for not replacing the snap ring with something more sturdy."

"I have used this whistle for over two years. It is the best whistle and I use it exclusively. I have a Roy Gonia Competition Clear also on my lanyard in case the Mega experiences a problem as an whistle can in freezing weather but use it only when necessary. Those I have seen who have trouble with it either do not know how to blow the whistle or believe it is not making enough sound because they do not hear it clearly. What they do not understand is the point of this whistle is to project the sound forward and in the process the added benefit is it protects your hearing. This is a great product!!!"

"I purchaced this whistle right after I got my lab back from the trainers as to continue his training at home and to use in the blind. This is the same whislte that his trainer used. It has a shrill that will cut through the hardest winds and roughest waters. I highly recommend this product who is looking for a top notch training/in the field whistle."
