"I bought this for my dog. I use it when he is on our boat. He has fallen off the boat twice since I received it. The first time he went under the boat and came up 10 feet behind it. The second time he when to the side of the boat. I know he can swin but I am afraid if he gets hurt or knocked out he wouldn't be able to come up. I feel alot safer with the life jacket now."

Good consturction but...,

"Good sturdy construction and fits the Retriever nice. Only gripe i have is that it's shipped flat and there's really no curve to it, so it's like wrapping your dog up with a foam board and then clicking it in place. The design should be rounded a bit so that it fits more snug around the dog. Does it work? YES. How irritating is it to the dog? Not sure but he doesn't seem to mind it on. So it must be ok in the comfort area for him.
The price I feel is a little high for this but If you're buying only one and plan on having something used for a while, this is a good choice. Wish there were more colors to choose from, like Hunter Orange and bright Yellow. Brighter colors would help notice the dog in the water by boaters, etc.
The size is true to it's chart so measure your dog first before ordering."

"I researched a lot of these pet flotation devices. This was the best one yet. Very durable, made well, quality is great. Works wonderfully. I have a 75lb Golden Retreiver and it helps keep him up in the water - so he can swim a lot longer and doesn't tire as quickly. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great flotation device for a large dog."

"One of the best investments I have made! I am always leery when it comes to our hyper-active labrador jumping out of the boat on hot summer days, and this device makes me feel comfortable knowing that she is safe! Easy handle on the top of flotation device allows you to lift the dog out of the water and back into the boat! Doesn't bother her a bit! I would definitely recommend this to anyone!"

"I bought this for my 140 lb German Shepherd. It is very easy to put on him and helps keep him afloat when he is in the water. We play Stick with him to get him used to it. Can't say he is impressed with it though."

"Our Lab,Belle,wears it without even noticing it's on. We use it on her for river fishing, (swift currents) should she end up out of the boat. She also uses it during water retrives,after tiring,so she can swim (swim longer)and get a better work-out."

"I bought this for our labrador retriever for going out on the Chesapeake Bay on my in-law's boat. I was very thankful that she had it due to the currents and also that it's difficult to get her out of the water. I was very pleased with the overall quality and performance of the product. The handle was more than strong enough to use to pick her up out of the water. (she weighs about 75 lbs.)"

"I tried the large vest on my German Shepherd. It fits well but I had to make it pretty snug in order for it to stay aligned correctly. He hates it but he is missing a front paw so swimming is impossible and he has no choice."

"Purchased a medium flotation device for my 6 month old lab. Excellent quality and easy to fit. I can recommend this product to anyone. I'm not sure Maggie likes it though. As she is a water dog and a good swimmer, she hides from other dogs when wearing it. She thinks she doesn't need it."

"I bought this for my three-legged Lab Mix because he is fearless but can't effectively swim with only one front leg. Now I don't feel like I have to be ready to run into the water every trip to the beach. I bought a Medium based on the size chart. If your dog measures on the end of the size group, I would opt for the larger size.
Great product!"

"I ordered this for one of my dogs who is a pit bull that loves the water, even in winter. It just didn't fit the dog--the back top part stuck out like wings. I thought the wings would catch on things. However, this device may fit a dog with larger hindquarters such as a retriever. The device was very nicely made and quite fancy---perhaps too deluxe for a water dog."

"My 170-lb St Bernard seemed perfectly comfortable while wearing this life vest. He never fell off the boat so we didn't experience how well it would hold him up. I think the dark red/black coloring would be hard to see in the water and I wish it was a brighter color. Also, the dog hair clings to the entire vest making it very hard to clean. Finding a dog life vest this large was a challenge and this one did fit well."
