No longer the boat shoe of yesteryear,

"The Sperry boat shoes are no longer the shoes they once were. My last pair of the billfish lasted less than a year with little boating use. I only boat during the summer months and probably wore my shoes 10 times on the boat and maybe a half dozen times as casul dress. First tthe shoe insoles came loose and then the stitching.
Once upon a time Sperry's, in general, would last a couple of years and hold up to the toughest marine conditiions but that has changed. The shoes are now made in China and the target market seems to be kids. I've yet to find a boat shoe to equal the old Sperry quality but will continue to look."

"The shoes look & feel great. Class act. I've owned Bass, Dockers, Timberland & about 4 different Sperrys but these are my favorite.
I do seem to find myself geting into muddy & wet situations but I hope I'm wearing some older shoes as I do not want to mess these up..yet!"

"If you wear a certain size in Nike, order a half size smaller than that for these. The shoes are OK, but for a hundred bucks, I could get two pair of Cabelas brand and be happy. Stitching is already starting to come apart after two weeks. Not impressed and don't see what all the hype is about."

"This is the third pair of Sperry Billfish that I have owned. Living in Florida, I get year round use of the shoes and they are comfortable, durable and work fairly well on the deck of the boat. Now if they would only survive a Lab pup's teeth...."

"The Sperry 3-Eye Billfish is a great shoe for wearing on the dock or around town. Very comfortable. The sizing seemed to run a little larger than expected (had to exchange a 10½W for a 10W), but overall I am very pleased with the quality and comfort."

"I order a pair of these every year. Easy on, easy off. They work very well for me doing yardwork, going out in jeans, and summer boating. They are constantly being abused and hold up very well. I like that they dry quickly when wet. The only issue is the webbing along the side. It eventually wears out and tears/opens. But after all the abuse I give them throughout the year, they are still the best work and play shoe I've owned. I've been ordering them for about 6 years and I'm ordering another pair tonight."
